Reportedly, the new Lung Cang bridge was started on July 7th, following the collapse of the old bridge which isolated more than 70 households.
As a result, people have had to cross the stream by clinging to the remnants of the old bridge or using rafts, posing significant safety risks. To address this situation, the People's Committee of Vi Xuyen District has appealed for support from philanthropists to rebuild the bridge.
The new bridge, constructed with reinforced concrete, has a load capacity of 10 tons, is 44 meters long, and 3.5 meters wide, spanning a stream in Thuan Hoa commune. The total cost is approximately 3 billion VND, with 2 billion VND contributed by philanthropists and 1 billion VND by Vi Xuyen district. The project is expected to be completed within 3-4 months.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, the leaders of Vi Xuyen district emphasized the importance of the new bridge to the lives of people in Lung Cang and Lung Buong villages, as well as neighboring areas in the commune, stating that it will make a practical contribution to improving the quality of life and promoting transportation and community connectivity.
