The Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board said that the Management Board has sent a document to the Ministry of Construction, requesting to promptly complete the relevant appraisal and approval steps to submit to the Government for approval to start the Cam Lo - La Son Expressway expansion project as soon as possible.

According to the proposal, the implementation of the Cam Lo - La Son Expressway Expansion Project will be carried out in the order of emergency projects, in order to shorten the time for handling administrative procedures and speed up progress.
Previously, the Government approved the project investment policy with the goal of upgrading the existing expressway from 2 lanes to 4 lanes. The project has a total investment of more than 6,400 billion VND, with a route length of 98.35 km, closely following the route of the Cam Lo - La Son expressway currently in operation.
Specifically, the starting point of the project is at Km0+000 (in Cam Hieu commune, Cam Lo district, Quang Tri province), connecting with the final section of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway project. The end point is at Km102+200 (in Loc Bon commune, Phu Loc district, Hue city), connecting with the starting point of the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway project.
The investment scope includes expanding the roadbed, road surface and auxiliary works on the route, ensuring synchronous technical infrastructure and operating capacity according to 4-lane standards.
Currently, the Ministry of Construction is coordinating with relevant agencies to urgently complete investment preparation procedures to submit to the Government for approval.
According to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, it is expected that by the end of August, all legal documents will be completed and the project will officially begin construction. The goal is to complete the entire project by the end of 2026.
The project has a great advantage in that there are almost no problems in site clearance. Most of the necessary conditions have been fully prepared and are ready to be implemented immediately after the official decision from the competent authority.
