Ms. Doan Thi Hong (70 years old, in village 2, Ea Bung commune, Ea Sup district) is a single female member in a particularly difficult situation. Her family has no land for production, so Ms. Hong has to collect scrap to make ends meet. Understanding this situation, the Provincial Border Guard Command has supported Ms. Hong with 50 million VND to build a house. In addition to the financial support, she also received support and help from female members in the association, neighbors and relatives, so the house was quickly completed.
“After living most of my life, I finally have a solid house to live in. Living in a new warm house, I feel more and more the love everyone has for me...”, Ms. Hong was moved.

As a border commune with many difficulties, the Women's Union of Krong Na commune (Buon Don district) has accompanied women in the border area with practical activities such as improving knowledge, providing skills guidance for women, promoting the proactive and positive role of women in building happy families, new rural areas and many other social security activities.

Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Krong Na commune, Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, shared: "During the implementation of the program, grassroots union officials always visit each family of women's union members to propagate the implementation of civilized lifestyles, eliminate bad customs; encourage poor and near-poor households to proactively participate in implementing economic development models; and mobilize families to participate in periodic environmental sanitation launched by the women's union."
With the support of all levels and sectors and the efforts of its members, over the past 5 years, the Women's Union of Krong Na commune has coordinated to present 28 livelihood models to women with a total value of 264 million VND; built 15 houses worth nearly 600 million VND; maintained 10 groups, models, and clubs with regular activities to mobilize women to improve their knowledge and improve their health. Thereby contributing to reducing the number of poor households in the commune from 858 households (in 2020) to 572 households (by the end of 2024).
Implementing the direction of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, the Provincial Women's Union has continued to sign a coordination plan with the Provincial Border Guard Command to implement the program "Accompanying women in the border areas" for the period 2021 - 2025.
The Provincial Women's Union has directed its affiliated units to establish 4 support clusters for 4 border communes (Krong Na commune - Buon Don district; Ia Rve, Ia Lop, Ea Bung communes - Ea Sup district), assigning members of the Standing Committee to accompany and support the clusters in implementing the program's targets and tasks; annually mobilizing social resources to support social security, livelihood support, improve knowledge and skills... contributing with local Party committees and authorities to solve essential needs for poor women and women in especially difficult circumstances in border communes.

During the 5 years of implementing the program, the Provincial Women's Union, together with the Provincial Border Guard Command and supporting units, has carried out many meaningful activities and programs such as: "Spring on the border warms the hearts of the villagers", "Giving love to the border", "Warm sunshine on the border", "Tet of love and affection on the border", "Border market"...
Thereby, 22 sanitation works, 1 clean water work, 1 "Border Well" work were built; 1 playground was built, 2 computer sets were donated, 234 scholarships and many gifts were given to students at schools; more than 8,000 gifts were given to members and poor women; free medical examination and medicine were given to more than 500 people; 64 livelihood models were donated, 82 women were supported to borrow capital for economic development... with a total value of about 4.5 billion VND.
According to President of the Provincial Women's Union To Thi Tam, a stable family economy and life are important foundations for women and people to avoid being lured by bad guys into violating border regulations.
