Severe landslides in An Giang

GD&TĐ - A riverside landslide in Vinh Hoa commune, An Giang province, caused three houses belonging to local residents to completely collapse into the river.

On the morning of June 24th, a serious landslide occurred along the banks of the Cai River in the Nha Ngang market area, Vinh Hiep hamlet, Vinh Hoa commune, An Giang province, completely destroying three houses and causing significant property damage.

According to initial reports, the landslide occurred at approximately 7:00 AM on the same day.

The houses that completely collapsed included: the house of Mr. Phan Duy Thanh (born in 1985), a prefabricated structure, measuring 5.8m x 12m; the house of Mr. Danh Nam (born in 1967), a brick house, measuring 5.9m x 19m, along with many belongings; and the house of Mr. Ha Kim Lon (born in 1968), a newly completed brick house with a false upper floor.

The total estimated damage is over 1.7 billion VND. Fortunately, the incident did not cause any casualties.

Emergency forces are urgently providing assistance to affected households.

Currently, the area where the landslide occurred has been cordoned off by local authorities and relevant agencies to warn people and restrict their passage to ensure safety.

The Military Command of Vinh Hoa commune continues to maintain a permanent militia force at the scene, coordinating with the commune police and local departments and agencies to assist people in clearing their belongings and stabilizing temporary housing; at the same time, closely monitoring developments in the landslide area.
