In Kon Skôi village, Kon Braih commune, more than 120 households living along the banks of the Dak Bla River are living in constant fear as their land and crops continue to be swept away by the river. According to the Kon Braih Commune People's Committee, Kon Skôi village has over 1,000 hectares of agricultural land, but much of the crops have been washed away, leaving many families penniless. Severe erosion along the Dak Bla River also threatens the village's access road, with the riverbank now less than half a meter from the road's edge.
A similar situation is occurring at the Dak Sia stream in Kon Dao commune, along National Highway 40B. In Tu Mo Rong commune, residents along the Dak Ter stream have also been facing danger as the stream is continuously eroding and expanding too rapidly. On the banks, chunks of land are collapsing into the water, forming steep cliffs that threaten many nearby houses. If not reinforced, the erosion will continue to encroach further into residential areas, endangering the safety of neighborhoods, markets, and National Highway 40B.
