Hang Pu Xi village has 72 households with nearly 380 inhabitants, mainly of the Hmong ethnic group. The people mostly engage in agriculture , and their daily lives are peaceful, not significantly disrupted by external factors.
But the peaceful lives of the people of Hang Pu Xi village were completely disrupted after a night of devastating floods. The floodwaters from upstream swept away everything. The consequences claimed the lives of two young children, completely destroyed 22 houses, crops, and livestock...
The Hang Pu Xi village was devastated after the historic flood. |
Faced with the immense losses suffered by the people, the local authorities, along with the military and police forces, urgently devised plans to enter the flooded area to assist in disaster relief efforts. However, the road leading to the village was blocked by landslides, making rescue work and the transportation of food and supplies extremely difficult. But with the spirit of "selfless service to the people," the soldiers of the Ho Chi Minh Army worked day and night, braving mud and strong currents, walking for hours to reach Hang Pu Xi village, bringing essential food supplies to support the villagers.
It was amidst hardship, suffering, and loss that the spirit of resilience, solidarity, and profound affection between the military and the people shone brightly, overcoming the cruelty of nature. The images of soldiers wading through mud to search for missing people, taking civilians to hospitals at night, helping people clear mud, unclog canals, and repair houses... moved many people deeply.
The suffering will pass, the villages will be reborn, but in the hearts of every villager, the soldiers will always be a special pillar of support, helping the people here to recover, rise from the heart of the flood, and heal the wounds after the natural disaster. In their minds, the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers, always ready to sacrifice themselves for the peace of the Fatherland and the people, shines brightly.
