At Quail Hollow in Charlotte, Scottie Scheffler is showing the consistent form of a true champion, the heir to the great Tiger Woods .
On Saturday, dubbed “Moving Day” – the pivotal day that decided the PGA Championship, Scheffler impressed with 65 strokes (-6).

This is the lowest score a golfer has achieved in round 3, among those who passed the cut after 36 holes.
The American golfer opened Saturday (local time) with a bogey at hole 1. Up to hole 13, Scheffler had 4 birdies and 3 bogeys.
The turning point came at hole 14 (par 4): the golfer who had led the world rankings for 104 consecutive weeks scored an eagle. Then came a birdie at hole 15.
In the “Green Mile” area, with a series of 3 challenging final holes, Scheffler’s mettle was shown. He made no mistakes, even scoring 2 consecutive birdies on holes 17 and 18.
Rain delayed the penultimate round at Quail Hollow. Strong winds added to the challenges for the golfers, where character, experience and mental strength were key.
After three consecutive days of playing under par, Scheffler climbed to the top of the leaderboard with a total score of -11.
Scheffler is aiming for his second title of the season, and third major of his career. His previous two Grand Slam victories were both at The Masters.

Like Scheffler, Jon Rahm was another standout golfer on a day when the weather made the course unpredictable.
Rahm shot a 67, his best in three days of competition in Charlotte. This result gave him a score of -6 and hopes of a historic round on the final day.
Rahm's goal is not just to win. He is aiming for his third major trophy, after the 2021 US Open and The Masters 2023, and to become the first Spanish golfer to win the PGA Championship .
Not an easy challenge. No Spanish golfer has ever won three different majors, including the legendary Seve Ballesteros.
Meanwhile, after leading for two rounds, Jhonattan Vegas fell behind with a score of -6. In round 3, the Venezuelan golfer hit 2 strokes over par.
The PGA Championship race also includes Alex Noren (-8), Davis Riley (-7), JT Poston (-7), Kim Si Woo (-6), and Bryson DeChambeau (-5).
For his part, Rory McIlroy no longer has a chance to win the championship after hitting 1 stroke over par, with a total score of +2. He has no image of the legend who just won The Masters 2025.
The battle at Quail Hollow will heat up as the leading golfers emerge. Tony Finau and Bryson DeChambeau tee off at 1am on May 19 ( Hanoi time); Rahm plays Kim Si Woo at 1:20am; the final pairing of Scheffler and Alex Noren starts at 1:40am.
