Students flock to the Temple of Literature to pray for good luck before entering the 2025 high school graduation exam.
On the morning of June 24th, many parents and students arrived early at the Temple of Literature to pray for good luck and hope for a smooth journey in the upcoming exams.
The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place from June 25th to 27th with nearly 1.17 million candidates nationwide registered. On June 25th, candidates will complete the exam registration procedures, and on June 26th and 27th, they will take the exams in Mathematics, Literature, and two elective subjects.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, the number of candidates registering for the high school graduation exam this year increased by 93,894 compared to last year, including more than 42,000 independent candidates.
Students personally wrote prayers and wishes for good luck and success in the 2025 high school graduation exam at the Temple of Literature - the first university in Vietnam.
The incense sticks offered by the students before the altars of Confucius and Teacher Chu Van An were a prayer to the sages, seeking wisdom and spirit to overcome the upcoming exams.
Parents offered heartfelt prayers, wishing their children success in the 2025 high school graduation exam.
Tran Thi Bao Linh, a student from Ngo Si Lien High School ( Hanoi ), said: "Even though I prepared and reviewed thoroughly for this year's exam, I'm still nervous because it's a significant milestone after 12 years of studying. To ease my anxiety, I came to Van Mieu National Temple today to pray for good luck and wisdom, and to confidently pass the exam."
The offerings included various items such as exam notification papers, calculators, pens, rulers, and other items allowed in the examination room.
After paying their respects and praying for good luck, students would seek out calligraphers at the Temple of Literature to ask for auspicious characters such as "Pass," "Achieve," and "Pass the Imperial Examination."
A group of friends, including Vu Hien Trang from My Hao High School ( Hung Yen ), visited the Temple of Literature to offer incense and ask for the three characters "Dang Khoa" (meaning "Passing the Exam"). "We took the bus from Hung Yen to the Temple of Literature to pray for success and good luck in the exams. For us, this is not just the graduation exam, but also a ticket to university, opening up a new path for the future," Trang excitedly shared.
