Mr. Tran Quoc Toan, Vice Chairman of the Nghia Do Commune People's Committee, delivered the opening speech for the night market.

The cultural performances at the market are choreographed and staged by the local people and students, reflecting the unique characteristics of each ethnic group. The Tày people's Then singing, the Dao people's traditional dances, and the Hmong people's Xenh Tien dance blend together to create a vibrant and lively atmosphere, attracting many tourists to enjoy and experience them.

The Nghia Do cultural market space is designed in the characteristic style of highland markets, with stalls made of wooden pillars and thatched roofs. A distinctive feature of the market is its open space, without partitions between stalls, allowing sellers and buyers to easily interact and connect.

The market is a place to display and introduce a diverse range of fresh agricultural products and local specialties, such as vegetables, brocade fabrics, handicrafts, and attractive traditional dishes: banana cake, wild plum salad, five-colored sticky rice, grilled fish, duck stew, steamed bananas... More than just a shopping destination, it is also a space to honor and promote the traditional handicrafts of the Tay people of Nghia Do, such as baskets, fish baskets, shopping baskets, brocade bags, scarves, and hand-woven clothing – products that bear the strong cultural imprint and skillful hands of the local people.

Reopening the Nghia Do night market every Saturday evening not only contributes to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the ethnic minorities, but also creates a bridge for tourists to better understand the local people and products.

This activity aims to concretize the Resolution of the First Party Congress of Nghia Do Commune, term 2025-2030, in the goal of developing community tourism and building Nghia Do into a rapidly and sustainably developing commune in the direction of "green, harmonious, distinctive, and happy".

Previously, due to the impact of Typhoon No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi ) in 2024, Nghia Do commune suffered heavy losses in terms of human lives and infrastructure, and night market activities had to be temporarily suspended from September 2024. Now, with life gradually stabilizing, Nghia Do night market has returned full of life, bringing joy and hope for a new and prosperous tourism season.
