Former Manchester United managers are struggling in Türkiye, Solskjaer was sacked by Besiktas, and Jose Mourinho's future with Fenerbahce is uncertain.

Besiktas has just decided to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer . The defeat against the small Swiss team Lausanne (0-1) in the Conference League qualifiers, which eliminated them from the tournament, was the final straw.

Immediately after being eliminated from European competition, Besiktas fans began protesting and demanding the resignation of the former Manchester United manager. The club's management also reacted immediately.

The leaders of Real Madrid held an emergency meeting at the stadium to decide on measures to salvage the season. The meeting ended with the decision to sack Solskjaer.

Sergen Yalcin, former player and coach of Besiktas, returns to the club to replace the Norwegian manager.

Fenerbahce is experiencing a similar situation to Besiktas. In fact, in Istanbul, discussions have already begun about the possibility of parting ways with Jose Mourinho .

The team nicknamed "Efsane" (legend) once again missed out on the Champions League group stage after a defeat against Benfica (0-1).

In that match, Mourinho's team didn't even manage a single shot on target and had to accept relegation to the Europa League.

Being eliminated from the Champions League was something nobody expected, neither the club nor Mourinho. The Portuguese strategist also expressed dissatisfaction with the transfer policy.

In a press conference ahead of the second leg of the Champions League play-off against Benfica, Mourinho publicly criticized the club's management for their lack of decisiveness in the transfer market.

"I don't think there's been any excessive effort for new signings," Mourinho stated.

"If the Champions League was truly the club's biggest goal, I believe something must have happened with the transfers for the matches against Feyenoord or Benfica."

Mourinho's statements sparked considerable controversy, even among Fenerbahce fans. Naturally, the majority did not support him.

However, the dissatisfaction isn't limited to one side. Recently, Fenerbahce officials have also been unhappy with the work of "The Special One".

This is because Mourinho – also a former Manchester United manager – has yet to win a single derby match in Türkiye and has been forced to watch his rivals Galatasaray surpass him in every aspect.

Mourinho also wouldn't object to the two sides parting ways, as long as he was guaranteed compensation for the contract termination. Last season, he said that his move to Türkiye was a mistake.

Fenerbahce chairman Ali Koc has begun considering sacking Mourinho as a strategic move to gain an advantage in the club's elections on September 23rd.

The price is not cheap: terminating Mourinho's contract could cost the Turkish football giant more than 20 million euros.
