LAFC is close to signing Son Heung-min.

According to The Guardian , Son Heung-min's representatives began negotiations with LAFC management last week. Things are progressing well, with the South Korean striker ready to move to MLS.

LAFC is expected to pay a transfer fee of around 15 to 20 million euros to Tottenham Hotspur, lower than the "Spurs'" initial valuation. LAFC sees Son Heung-min as a key player to strengthen their attack and improve their standing in the league.

Since the beginning of summer, LAFC's management has considered the South Korean striker their number one target in the transfer market. They believe that Son Heung-min can make a breakthrough both professionally and commercially, especially thanks to his influence within the Korean community in Los Angeles.

LAFC chairman John Thorrington previously admitted: “We are building a global team, and Son Heung-min is the ideal player with his experience and class.” However, Tottenham still wants to keep Son Heung-min until the club finishes its Asian tour this summer.

According to the Telegraph , Son Heung-min's participation is mandatory under the contract signed between Tottenham and the organizers of this summer's friendly matches in Asia. If the striker is not included in the squad, Spurs will lose up to 75% of the fee they receive for playing in South Korea. This figure will be halved if Sonny is included in the squad but does not play in the match.
