The past year marked a successful year for Son La tourism with 4.5 million visitors and tourism revenue exceeding 4,700 billion VND. According to assessments, the tourism products chosen by visitors were mainly experiential and relaxing, with Moc Chau district remaining the most attractive destination.
In addition, there are famous community-based tourism destinations, including the fairytale land of Ngoc Chien in Muong La district; Ta Xua commune and Xim Vang commune in Bac Yen district… which are loved and visited by many domestic and international tourists. With more than 600 tourist accommodation establishments, nearly 6,000 direct employees, and hundreds of attractive and interesting destinations, Son La's tourism industry aims to welcome 5.5 million tourists in 2024, striving to achieve revenue from tourism services exceeding 5,500 billion VND.
To achieve its goals, Son La province's tourism sector is focusing on implementing three projects: "Developing Moc Chau National Tourist Area to meet the criteria for recognition by 2025"; "Orienting the development of the Son La hydroelectric reservoir area into a national tourist area, 2022-2030"; and "Developing Quynh Nhai district into a provincial-level tourist area, 2021-2030". Simultaneously, it is supporting and guiding tourist areas and destinations to invest in and upgrade tourism infrastructure, improve service quality and capacity, and develop new, unique, and attractive tourism products.
Mr. Phan Ngoc Hoang, Business Director of Phuong Hoang International Tourism Development Co., Ltd., Moc Chau district, Son La province, said: "To better serve the needs of tourists, our company has improved and upgraded many services, for example, adding more items related to accommodation services, such as building new accommodation areas; providing more check-in points for tourists and renovating facilities, such as the reception area and upgrading services, such as electric vehicle pick-up and drop-off services; camping services have also been upgraded to a new quality to meet the needs of tourists during the peak season in Moc Chau."
