Son La strives to welcome 5.5 million tourists

Last year marked a successful year for Son La tourism with 4.5 million visitors, tourism revenue reaching over 4,700 billion VND. According to assessments, the tourism products chosen by tourists are mainly experiential and relaxing, in which the most attractive destination is still Moc Chau district.

Besides, there are famous community tourism destinations, including: Ngoc Chien fairyland, Muong La district; Ta Xua commune, Xim Vang commune, Bac Yen district... which are loved and sought after by many domestic and international tourists. With more than 600 tourist accommodation establishments, nearly 6,000 direct workers and hundreds of attractive and interesting destinations, in 2024, Son La tourism industry aims to welcome 5.5 million tourists, striving for revenue from tourism services to reach over 5,500 billion VND.

To achieve the set goals, the Son La province tourism sector is focusing on implementing 3 projects: "Developing Moc Chau National Tourist Area to be eligible for recognition by 2025"; "Orientation for developing the Son La hydroelectric reservoir area to become a national tourist area, period 2022 - 2030"; "Developing tourism in Quynh Nhai district to become a provincial tourist area, period 2021 - 2030". At the same time, supporting and guiding tourist areas and spots to invest in, upgrade tourism infrastructure, improve service quality, service capacity, develop new, unique and attractive tourism products.

Mr. Phan Ngoc Hoang, Sales Director of Phuong Hoang International Tourism Development Company Limited, Moc Chau District, Son La Province said: "To better serve the needs of visitors, our company has improved and upgraded many services, such as adding items related to accommodation services, such as building new accommodation areas; providing more check-in points for visitors and renovating facilities, such as the reception area and upgrading services, such as pick-up and drop-off service by electric car; tent services have also been upgraded to a new quality to meet the needs of visitors during the peak season of Moc Chau".
