Sonic Mania Plus is coming to mobile

According to VGC , Sonic Mania Plus will be available on mobile devices for the first time via Netflix's gaming service. The arrival of the fan-favorite Sonic game is part of a wave of new content coming to the platform. Netflix confirmed that the game will be released in 2024 for Android and iPhone devices.

A 'Plus' version of Sonic Mania was released for Consoles and PC in 2018, with game content including a remixed Encore mode and two new playable characters, Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel.

Netflix's gaming service launches in 2021, and by the end of the year, it is expected to have nearly 90 games available on the platform, including notable names such as Grand Theft Auto Trilogy – The Definitive Edition and Football Manager 24 Mobile . According to Netflix, the company also has nearly 90 other games in development, including Braid: Anniversary Edition, Hades, Monument Valley 1 & 2 , and Paper Trail .

Earlier this year, Netflix also took the first step towards bringing gaming to TV and PC with a beta rollout in the US, UK and Canada.

"By the end of the year, we'll have 86 games available, all available to every Netflix member without ads, in-app purchases, or additional fees. And with nearly 90 more in development, things are still getting started," Netflix's VP of gaming, Mike Verdu, wrote.
