In the early morning of October 13th (local time), SpaceX launched its massive Starship rocket from the Starbase launch site in South Texas, USA. After a short journey into space, the 50-meter-high upper stage landed in the Indian Ocean after orbiting the Earth as planned.

Elon Musk proudly shared the news on social media, calling it "a major step forward in creating multi-planetary life."
Accordingly, in its fifth test launch, SpaceX made history by successfully recovering the reusable Super Heavy booster stage. It separated from Starship and slowly fell vertically back to the launch pad. Previously, in earlier tests, the booster stages had either fallen into the water or been damaged, but this time the company used giant mechanical arms called mechazilla and successfully captured it.
SpaceX's feat has been described as incredible. Capturing the booster stage is crucial to Starship's reusable design.
This unprecedented approach has allowed the company to save hundreds of millions of dollars. Musk's startup has signed a contract with NASA to carry out ambitious Artemis missions.
The Starship launch system is known to be 121 meters tall and capable of carrying up to 100 people. With its latest flight, SpaceX successfully achieved both objectives: capturing the booster rocket and the upper stage after it derailed in space.
The company will conduct more testing as it prepares for its contract with NASA, as well as for missions to send crewed troops to the Moon and eventually to Mars.
