On June 3rd, international media outlets reported that Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf pleaded guilty to three counts of assault. According to AP and Variety magazine, the incident stemmed from a brawl at a bar in the French Quarter of New Orleans during the bustling Mardi Gras festival.

The brawl occurred just after midnight, when the Transformers actor was escorted out of the bar by security in an intoxicated state. Video footage from the scene shows Shia LaBeouf aggressively shoving one person to the ground before lunging at another and punching him in the face. A later report from New Orleans police indicated the actor's punch nearly broke the victim's nose.

Given the overwhelming evidence, Judge Juana Marine-Lombard sentenced Shia LaBeouf to six months of probation and two years of supervised release. In addition, the court ordered the actor to remain away from the three victims and prohibited him from entering the bar where the crime occurred.

Attorney Sarah Chervinsky, representing Shia LaBeouf, told reporters: "LaBeouf appeared in court voluntarily accepting responsibility for his actions. Now, he just wants to focus all his time on his family, work, and new creative projects." The lawyers also affirmed that the actor will seriously comply with the alcohol addiction treatment program as ordered.

According to Variety , in 2017, while filming The Peanut Butter Falcon in Georgia, Shia LaBeouf was also handcuffed for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. At that time, the court also ordered him to undergo drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
