At approximately 10:30 AM on February 24th, while commanding forces training in preparation for the training commencement ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Dang Cao Cuong, Commander of the Dak Sak Commune Military Command, received a report of a house fire in Xuan Tinh village. He immediately dispatched nearly 40 soldiers and militia members to the scene to coordinate with other functional forces in implementing a plan to extinguish the fire and rescue people. However, due to the house being made of wood, containing many flammable items, the water source being far away, and strong winds, firefighting efforts faced many difficulties.

Undeterred by the danger, the firefighters made strenuous efforts to evacuate the family's belongings and property; at the same time, they used loudspeakers to announce and call on surrounding households to control and prevent the fire from spreading. After 15 minutes, the fire was extinguished, but the entire wooden house, covering more than 60 square meters , along with many belongings worth approximately 200 million VND, were completely destroyed.

The Military Command of Dak Sak commune presented books and school supplies to the three children of Mr. and Mrs. Viet.

Lieutenant Colonel Dang Cao Cuong stated: “Mr. Luong Hoang Viet's family has three children. Currently, his wife is pregnant with their fourth child. Although their permanent residence is in Dak Xo village, due to extremely difficult circumstances, a few months ago, his family moved to Xuan Tinh village to rent a house so that the children could go to school on their own while the couple worked odd jobs to make a living. But now their house has been burned down.”

Given the circumstances of Mr. Viet's family, the Military Command of Dak Sak commune arranged for them to borrow two small rooms. However, with the help and support of neighbors, Mr. Viet and his wife found temporary accommodation not far from their burned house. On February 26th, officers, staff, and soldiers of the Military Command of Dak Sak commune continued to contribute and support the family with 6.5 million VND to buy food, clothes, blankets, and school supplies for the children.

Overwhelmed by the kindness of the unit's officers and soldiers, Ms. Phan Thi Kim Hue, Mr. Viet's wife, said emotionally: "Pregnant and devastated after the fire, I was heartbroken. Luckily, the soldiers and militia encouraged and supported me. For the past two days, they've come to the school every lunchtime to pick up the children and bring them to the office for meals and rest; then they take the children back to school in the early afternoon, so my husband and I can focus on dealing with the aftermath of the fire. In times of hardship and difficulty, the soldiers and militia are truly a pillar of support for my family."

According to Lieutenant Colonel Dang Cao Cuong, in the coming time, the unit will call upon and mobilize companies, businesses, and philanthropists in the area to help Mr. Viet's family gradually stabilize their lives; providing some support in terms of materials, funding, and labor so that he can soon have a new house.
