Along with networking and promoting cooperation and exchange, charitable work and social welfare are activities that the Thanh Hoa City Business Association and its members actively participate in.

On the occasion of the 2nd Congress of the Thanh Hoa City Business Association, term 2024-2029: Dedicated to the community

The Thanh Hoa City Business Association presented savings passbooks to people in difficult circumstances in Van Nho commune (Ba Thuoc district).

Amidst the prolonged difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the impact of war, and especially the global economic crisis significantly affecting production and business, the Thanh Hoa City Business Association, during its first term (2019-2024), mobilized its members to donate over 5 billion VND to a charity fund to implement social welfare activities. This work was not only carried out within the city but also extended to areas within and outside the province.

The Thanh Hoa City Business Association donated 160 million VND through the Fatherland Front of Bim Son town to support the construction of charitable houses for two households.

Working together in solidarity to successfully achieve the "dual goals" during the COVID-19 pandemic, and responding to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Thanh Hoa City Fatherland Front, the association organized numerous fundraising campaigns, collecting billions of dong in cash and in kind. Simultaneously, it organized gift-giving events for hundreds of disadvantaged families, workers, and laborers in Thanh Hoa City during the "Tet Reunion, Connecting Love" program, Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27th), and War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27th)...

Mr. Vu Xuan Hai, Director of Donal Group Co., Ltd., shared: “Not only does the association have a strong focus on supporting connections and developing production and business, but it also does a great job with charitable and social welfare programs. Although I have only been a member of the association for 6 months, I have participated in many meaningful programs. My company, since 2020, has donated nearly 1 billion VND to charitable activities. Therefore, I find the principles and objectives of the association very close to those of my business and I joined immediately when I was introduced to it.”

Doctors from Hop Luc Joint Stock Company are providing free medical examinations for the elderly.

To further spread beautiful and meaningful acts of social welfare and volunteer work, the association has also collaborated with member organizations and businesses to establish charitable funds. For example, it has partnered with Orient Commercial Joint Stock Bank to implement a social welfare fundraising program with the theme: Small Actions - Big Meaning; and collaborated with the provincial Radio and Television Station to organize friendly football matches to raise funds for charitable activities.

The association distributes gifts to poor households in Thanh Hoa City every Lunar New Year.

In addition, the association has also coordinated with political and social organizations in the city to organize other meaningful programs, such as: collaborating with the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa City to organize the "Thanh Hoa City - Hoi An City Cultural Week" program at Hoi An Cultural Park to promote and educate about the historical traditions, culture, and people of Thanh Hoa; widely introducing and promoting the image and beauty of Thanh Hoa City and Hoi An City; coordinating with the Association for the Promotion of Learning and the Department of Education & Training of Thanh Hoa City to award scholarships and raise funds; signing a Memorandum of Understanding on implementing activities connecting Hong Duc University and the Thanh Hoa City Business Association to support training, fostering, and recruiting human resources for the association, creating jobs for the intellectual workforce of the university; implementing a program of releasing fish fry to regenerate aquatic resources...

Representatives from Tan Thanh Phuong Co., Ltd. presented Tet gifts to households in Muong Min commune (Quan Son district).

Many of the community-oriented activities carried out by the association are highly significant and appreciated by local authorities, such as: In 2019, the total amount of money raised for social welfare activities reached nearly 500 million VND and in-kind donations worth nearly 100 million VND. This money was used to help flood victims in Chung Son village, Son Thuy commune (Quan Son district) and Pa Hoc village, Nhi Son commune (Muong Lat district) overcome flood damage.

In 2020, the Association raised a total of over 600 million VND in cash and in-kind donations worth over 50 million VND. The funds were used to build charitable houses for poor households in Hoang Dai commune (Thanh Hoa City); to provide gifts to disadvantaged families in Hoang Quang commune (Thanh Hoa City); to support policy beneficiary families in three wards: Quang Thang, Quang Dong, and Quang Hung (Thanh Hoa City); and to assist the provinces of Quang Tri, Quang Binh, and Ha Tinh in overcoming the consequences of floods and heavy rains.

Recently, at its 2023 year-end summary program, the association raised 775 million VND. This money was used to donate three charitable houses to poor families in Hoang Hoa district and Bim Son town, and to support the Thanh Hoa City Scholarship and Talent Promotion Fund.

Deeply moved by the association's gesture, Ms. Pham Thi Thoa, from Dai Truong village, Hoang Truong commune (Hoang Hoa district), shared: “My husband passed away early, and my parents-in-law are ill. My three children and I lived in cramped conditions in an old house. Fortunately, thanks to the generous support of businesses who donated 50 million VND, along with our own capital and loans from relatives, my children and I now have a sturdy house to live in with peace of mind.”

The association donated funds to build a charitable house for Ms. Pham Thi Thoa, Dai Truong village, Hoang Truong commune.

Over the years, Hop Luc Corporation has organized numerous charitable programs such as: supporting the construction of solidarity houses; joining hands with the Vietnam Private Hospital Association to donate 100 million VND to build solidarity houses for poor households in Dien Bien province; and organizing regular annual visits, medical examinations, and free medicine distribution. In particular, the "Hop Luc Sharing Love" charitable program in Muong Lat district, organized at the end of 2023, provided training and professional knowledge in first aid for medical staff in schools in the district and donated first aid kits to schools; and organized free medical examinations and medicine distribution for people in Tam Chung commune. Donating clean water pipelines to Suoi Long school, Tam Chung Kindergarten, Tam Chung commune... These charitable programs have united compassionate hearts within the Hop Luc community, working together towards the community in a spirit of solidarity, social responsibility, and upholding the nation's tradition of "mutual support and compassion."

Hop Luc Joint Stock Company organized medical examinations and provided medicine to people in Tam Chung commune (Muong Lat district).

Mr. Le Ngoc Minh, the company's director, said: "In 2022, the company's revenue reached 503 billion VND; in 2023, it reached 393 billion VND. From profits, the company has donated hundreds of millions of VND each year to welfare funds and social welfare activities. For example, in August 2023, in Quan Son district, the company awarded 150 scholarships worth 200 million VND to disadvantaged students who excelled in their studies at primary and secondary schools in four communes: Son Dien, Muong Min, Tam Thanh, and Tam Lu. In early 2024, the company also coordinated with the Fatherland Front of Thanh Hoa City to donate 300 gifts, totaling 150 million VND, to orphans, people with disabilities, and households with particularly difficult circumstances in the city."

Mr. Le Mai Khanh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa City, said: "In the overall socio-economic development and social work of Thanh Hoa City, the association has made a significant contribution. I hope and believe that in the new term, the Executive Board of the association will continue to pay attention to and do well in this activity, demonstrating the entrepreneurial spirit in the new era and working together with the Party Committee and the government of Thanh Hoa City to better care for the community, especially policy beneficiary families and poor households in the area."
