Exemplary, pioneering

The road in Solidarity Group 42 in Ha My village, Duy Vinh commune, which was once narrow, dusty in the sun, and muddy in the rain, has now been widened to 7.5 meters and is 500 meters long. Along both sides of the road are flowerbeds blooming in vibrant colors.

To build this road, in addition to the 250 million VND in state funding, 30 households in group 42 contributed 210 million VND and voluntarily donated 1,200 square meters of land, relocating 9 sturdy fences and gates.

Mr. Tran Van Nhi, a resident of Ha My village, said that after hearing Mr. No announce the plan and clearly explain the significance of expanding the road, the people wholeheartedly agreed and supported it. He himself voluntarily donated 50 square meters of land and contributed funds according to the general regulations.

"Throughout the construction process, Mr. Nở was frequently present to supervise and participate in the labor. Therefore, the people responded enthusiastically, trusted, and appreciated him," Mr. Nhi said.

Not only this road, but currently 100% of the roads in Ha My village have been invested in, expanded, paved with concrete, lined with flowerbeds, and equipped with street lighting. To have these well-maintained roads, 45 households in Ha My village voluntarily donated more than 5,500 square meters of residential and garden land, and relocated 20 sturdy fences and gates to build the transportation infrastructure.

Mr. Nguyen No, Party Secretary and Head of Ha My village, said that when mobilizing funds for the construction of transportation infrastructure, poor and near-poor households, and those with difficult circumstances, all relied on the principle of voluntariness or exemption, while also calling for the community's cooperation...

"For the people to wholeheartedly support and successfully implement policies and guidelines, the leaders must first and foremost be exemplary and pioneers in all activities."

"At the same time, we must strictly adhere to the principle of 'the people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, the people supervise, and the people benefit.' Especially, we must dare to think, dare to act, and dare to take responsibility in all our work," Mr. Nguyen No shared.

Unleash the power of the people.

Every day at 5 a.m., Mrs. Trinh Thi Thanh regularly goes to the park in Ha My village to exercise. “Previously, this area was overgrown with weeds, and people used to graze livestock here. But since January 2024, the park has been established, making everyone happy. It’s all thanks to Mr. No’s leadership,” Mrs. Thanh said.

Upon investigation, it was found that, in addition to the park area, Mr. Nở directly spearheaded the construction of a well-organized children's playground, two football fields, and one volleyball court.

At the same time, he also pioneered and advocated for the establishment and maintenance of six clubs including football, volleyball, aerobics, folk dance, traditional folk singing, and most recently, the Bai Boi boat racing club.

To ensure the clubs operate effectively, Mr. Nở established a Zalo group, planned and organized friendly matches, and proposed solutions to overcome difficulties and obstacles during operation.

Each year, he mobilizes approximately 70 million VND from the community to organize sports events. As a result, the cultural, artistic, and sports movements in the locality have increasingly developed.

Furthermore, with funding from the State budget, Mr. Nở actively mobilized social resources to upgrade the cultural center to a standard size of 2,660m² , with a well-planned layout and many trees.

In addition, the village is equipped with a sound system and a community library with over 100 books of various kinds to serve the people. As a result, for six consecutive years (2018 - 2023), Ha My village has been recognized as a cultural village, with over 96% of households achieving cultural status.

Mr. Nở confided: "Even the easiest task is impossible without the people's support, but even the most difficult task can be accomplished with the people's cooperation. Looking back now, I feel encouraged because the material and spiritual lives of the people are constantly improving, and the appearance of our homeland is becoming more spacious, clean, and beautiful. All of this is built on the foundation of unity and solidarity among every official, Party member, and villager."

According to Mr. Nguyen Sau, Chairman of the Duy Vinh Commune People's Committee, Mr. No always practiced what he preached, putting the interests of the people first, and discussing everything democratically, openly, and transparently. This was a crucial factor in helping Ha My village achieve the standard of a model new rural residential area by the end of 2023.

To date, the average per capita income has reached 66.5 million VND/year, 6.4% higher than the average for the commune. "With a sense of responsibility, Mr. Nguyen No has mobilized the people's strength in all activities, leading Ha My to lead the patriotic emulation movement in the locality for many consecutive years, serving as a shining example of dedication to the people," said Mr. Sau.
