According to the Provincial Center for Disease Control, from the beginning of 2026 to the present, the province has recorded 2,539 cases of dengue fever, an increase of 1,577 cases compared to the same period in 2025, equivalent to a 2.6-fold increase.

Accordingly, out of the total number of cases, 19 were severe, but no deaths have been recorded. Cases have appeared in almost all localities in the province. To limit the number of cases, the health sector is strengthening surveillance, monitoring, and implementing disease control measures in some communes and wards with a high cumulative number of cases, including: Phuoc Hau, Hoa Phu, Long Chau, Long Ho, Tan Luoc, Tan Hanh, Vinh Xuan, and An Binh…
In addition to the number of cases, the province recorded 1,483 dengue fever outbreaks, a 2.8-fold increase compared to the same period last year. Given the complex developments of the epidemic, the health sector directed the handling of all detected outbreaks; at the same time, it strengthened surveillance and closely monitored the epidemiological situation.
Local authorities are stepping up communication efforts, encouraging people to regularly clean the environment, collect waste, remove items that hold stagnant water, and proactively eliminate mosquito larvae to cut off the breeding source of disease-carrying mosquitoes.
The health sector anticipates a continued increase in the risk of disease outbreaks due to the onset of the rainy season. Therefore, localities need to maintain surveillance, detect cases early, thoroughly handle outbreaks, and raise awareness of disease prevention in the community to limit the risk of widespread outbreaks.
