Speeding up on the Tuyen Quang – Ha Giang expressway construction site

In the context of complex natural disasters, investors and contractors have resolutely implemented response measures to ensure absolute safety for workers, equipment and works, while persistently following the scene and being ready to overcome difficulties to maintain the construction progress of the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway, further demonstrating a high sense of responsibility for this key national project.

Stay safe, stay on schedule

According to Mr. Nguyen Thien Tuyen, Director of the Traffic Works Management Board of Tuyen Quang province, the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway Project (Phase I) was implemented in extremely unfavorable weather conditions, with continuous rain for 8 months from the beginning of 2025. In particular, the flood caused by the circulation of storm No. 10 from September 28th made it impossible to dig and fill the roadbed, greatly affecting the progress and the proposed plan.

Proactively responding to the flood situation, investors and contractors have had many solutions to protect human resources, machinery, and camps to avoid construction interruptions when the flood passes.

Basically, the entire route is safe, except for package 24 which was heavily affected by rising floodwaters. At Duc Ninh bridge (Thai Hoa commune), the flood swept away 18 culverts and about 360 cubic meters of public roadbed soil. At Suoi Thut bridge (Phu Luu commune), the flood swept away 68 culverts and about 1,224 cubic meters of public roadbed soil. The total estimated damage is about 189 million VND.

Mr. Le Duc Tranh, Director of the Management Board of Construction Package 24, Deo Ca Group, said that if the problem is not resolved promptly, it will take a long time to resume the project after the flood recedes, affecting the overall progress of the project. Therefore, the unit has mobilized on-site equipment, machinery, and human resources, and as soon as the flood recedes, it will simultaneously deploy construction teams to quickly fix damaged areas, ensuring that construction is not interrupted for a long time.

Truong Son Construction Corporation mobilized maximum staff, workers and equipment to construct the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway.

At the XL-03 construction package of Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang expressway on the section in Ha Giang (old) area, Mr. Dao Ngoc Huan, Commander of the package, said that heavy rain would affect construction materials. Therefore, the contractor has proactively gathered and covered the materials, so the progress is basically guaranteed, reaching 67.6% of the total contract value.

Speed ​​up construction

In mid-October 2025, taking advantage of the sunny and favorable weather, the construction units of Package 24 mobilized maximum manpower and machinery to construct the National Highway 37 overpass - an important item on the entire route.

Mr. Le Duc Tranh, Director of the Management Board of Construction Package 24, Deo Ca Group, the contractor of Package 24, shared that all construction sites are being accelerated, workers are taking shifts, urgently cleaning the bearings, determining the bearing center, and preparing for the work of placing the overpass girder. Package 24 constructs 22 bridges on the route, constructed by the joint venture of Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company - Bridge Construction Joint Stock Company 75. The units organized over 20 construction sites with nearly 70 vehicles and equipment, mobilizing over 200 officers and workers directly working. Currently, the cumulative construction value has reached 479.84 billion VND, reaching 65.5% of the contract value; it is expected that 16/22 bridges will be completed before December 19.

On the entire highway, contractors are simultaneously accelerating. At package 19, the section from Km10+415 to Km23+00 constructed by Truong Son Construction Corporation, nearly 200 machines, equipment and more than 250 workers are operating continuously.

Deo Ca Group mobilized maximum labor and equipment to construct the project section through My Lam commune (Tuyen Quang).

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh My, Deputy Site Commander, the unit organized 17 construction teams, working in rotation day and night. Currently, the project is maintaining the set progress. The unit has completed 24/24 underpasses for people; completed 10/10 large box culverts, reaching 100% of the plan; completed 100% of round culverts and prefabricated box culverts on the main route; completed 13.2 km of K95 roadbed; completed 11.8 km of K98 roadbed... The cumulative construction value reached 447.97 billion VND, reaching 50.6% of the contract value and the unit is expected to complete laying 1 layer of asphalt concrete before December 19.

The Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway Project (Phase 1) is implementing the construction of 6/6 construction packages for the road and bridge sections on the route, while package 25 for the construction of the lighting system is currently being bid for. The construction of the 6 construction packages has been deployed in more than 114 construction sites; the total number of machinery and equipment mobilized on the route is nearly 1,100 units with about 1,000 workers. Up to now, the total cumulative construction value has reached 2,301.14 billion VND, reaching 48.78% of the contract value. The construction organization has basically controlled the progress, ensuring the completion of the asphalt concrete road surface to be eligible for traffic opening on December 19, 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Thien Tuyen, Director of the Traffic Works Management Board of Tuyen Quang province, said that Tuyen Quang province continues to resolutely direct contractors to concentrate all resources, organize urgent construction, work overtime, and increase shifts for the remaining items, ensuring the completion of the 64.5 km asphalt concrete road surface to be eligible for traffic opening on December 19, 2025.

At the same time, the units focused on urging and reviewing the progress and construction organization of all construction packages to meet the traffic opening schedule as directed by the Prime Minister . Thereby, striving to complete the roadbed, underpass, culvert and other works on the route before November 15; complete the foundation and 1-layer asphalt concrete road surface before December 19; complete the bridges on the main route (16/22 bridges) before December 19.

For the additional 8.1 km section, the contractor will be selected, a supervision consultant will be consulted, explosives and mine clearance will be conducted, compensation, support and resettlement will be provided, and the conditions for construction to begin on December 19 will be met.
