School health care
In Nam Phuoc commune, Nam Phuoc No. 3 Primary School became bustling with activity as students participated in the "Green Sprouts of the Future 2026" program organized by Tam Tri Quang Nam General Hospital. Mr. Nguyen Vinh Khong, Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of Tam Tri Quang Nam General Hospital, stated that the program was implemented to check, advise, and care for the health of the school's students.
According to Mr. Khong, the activity is of practical significance in the early detection of common health problems among school-aged children, contributing to raising awareness of primary healthcare for students and parents. Within the framework of the program, medical staff directly examined and advised on issues related to ear, nose, and throat health, oral health, and early detection of abnormal signs for timely monitoring and treatment.
In Hoa Khanh ward, Duy Tan Primary School has launched free swimming lessons for students. This activity has been positively received by parents and students, especially during the summer months when the risk of drowning is high.
Mr. Dang Van Sang, the school's physical education teacher, said the program organizes 80 free swimming classes, each with 12 students, for students from grades 1 to 5 of the school and students in Hoa Khanh ward. The classes will run from June 8th to August 30th, 2026. In addition to teaching basic swimming skills, students will also be equipped with knowledge about preventing drowning, handling emergency situations in the water, and safety principles when participating in recreational activities at rivers, lakes, and beaches.
According to Mr. Sang, popularizing swimming skills not only helps children improve their health and physical fitness but is also an important solution to minimize drowning accidents among children during the summer.

Light up dreams
In addition to healthcare, many programs supporting disadvantaged students are also implemented to further motivate them to continue their education. Recently, in Tam Anh commune, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, in coordination with the Youth Union and the family of Ms. Vo Thi Duong, representing Dai Duong Social Housing Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, organized a program to donate bicycles to disadvantaged students in the area.
According to Mr. Huynh Minh Phat, Secretary of the Tam Anh Commune Youth Union, the program has donated 10 bicycles worth a total of 20 million VND to support 10 students who are overcoming difficulties and striving for academic excellence. Receiving his new bicycle, Nguyen Van Duong, a 7th-grade student at Nguyen Khuyen Secondary School, shared: “My house is quite far from school. With this new bicycle, going to school will be much easier. I will try my best to study well so as not to disappoint the kind people who have cared for and helped me.”
According to Mr. Phat, the bicycle donation activity has profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the concern of organizations and individuals for the welfare of the younger generation. It also contributes to spreading the tradition of mutual support and compassion within the community. "We hope that these small gifts will further motivate the children to strive in their studies, training, and to nurture their dreams."
Recently, activities to care for disadvantaged children have been widely implemented in mountainous areas. Ms. Le Thi Tam, President of the City's Charity and Child Rights Protection Association, said that the program in response to the 2026 Action Month for Children, with the theme "Happy, Safe, and Steadfast Children in the Digital Age," was recently held at the meeting hall of the Tra My Commune People's Committee.
The program is organized by the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children's Rights in coordination with the People's Committee of the city and the Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention (Ministry of Public Security), with the support of many units, businesses, and philanthropists.
Specifically, the program awarded 404 "Lighting Up Dreams" scholarships, each worth 4 million VND, 5 savings accounts worth 10 million VND each, 200 online English scholarships, 200 online learning cards, 65 bicycles for students living far from school, 58 desktop computers, 11 water purifiers, and 8 televisions for schools.
The program also provided 35 child protection software programs to community libraries and schools, contributing to improving child protection skills in the digital age. In particular, the program organized free health check-ups, consultations, and medication distribution for 500 children and 200 people from disadvantaged families and poor households in Tra My commune.
According to Ms. Le Thi Tam, when each child lives in a safe, healthy environment and is given opportunities for comprehensive learning and development, these "future generations" will have more motivation to strive, realize their dreams, and become useful citizens for their homeland and country in the future.
