According to locals, Ba Waterfall is not only beautiful but also associated with colorful legends. Legend says that, long ago, the Tanh Linh area was home to a kind fairy who often descended from the mountain to bathe in the waterfall. Each time she appeared, the water from the waterfall became clearer, forming gentle bends and large, strangely shaped rocks. The locals called this place Ba Waterfall, both to commemorate the fairy and to preserve the pristine beauty of nature. These stories have been passed down from generation to generation, making Ba Waterfall both a scenic spot and a symbol deeply connected to the local culture and spirituality.
Not only is it an attractive tourist destination for visitors from near and far, Ba Waterfall is also an ideal place to experience nature. Groups of young people, families, and nature lovers often come here to camp, take photos, or simply listen to the sound of the waterfall and forest birds in the tranquil atmosphere. When visiting Ba Waterfall, tourists not only get to enjoy the beautiful scenery but also challenge themselves on trails leading deep into the forest, where they can encounter rare plant species or large rocks with strange shapes. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh - a tourist from Bac Gia Nghia ward shared: “I had heard many people talk about Ba Waterfall for a long time. After the province was merged, I came here with my group of friends to experience it, and only when we got here did we fully appreciate its beauty. The large rocks, the powerful stream of water, and the lush green forest surrounding it create a space that is both adventurous and relaxing. We went as a group, trekking, admiring the scenery, and taking photos; every moment was memorable.”

What makes Ba Waterfall special is that, despite being partially commercialized for tourism , it still retains its pristine natural beauty. The airy resting spots, the stone steps leading down to the waterfall, and the trails along the stream have all been preserved, allowing visitors to fully experience the closeness to nature. Families and groups of young people often bring food and rest on the large rocks, enjoying themselves, eating, and listening to the gentle sound of the waterfall. Many also take advantage of the time to capture beautiful photos, check in, or simply relax, closing their eyes and feeling the harmony between man and nature.
Mr. Van Cong Nguyen, Director of Thac Ba Tourist Area, said: “Thac Ba has long been a familiar destination for locals. But recently, many visitors from Da Lat, Dak Nong (formerly) and other provinces and cities have come to visit. They not only come to sightsee but also want to experience the peaceful atmosphere, try trekking, or simply immerse themselves in nature. Every time I see someone leave the waterfall with a satisfied smile, I feel happy because the Tanh Linh area is becoming more well-known.”

For adventurous travelers, Ba Waterfall also offers a thrilling sense of adventure. The trails along the stream, the slippery rocks after the rain, and the crossing of rocky rapids to reach the base of the waterfall all provide just the right amount of challenge, making the trip even more memorable. “My friends and I had to walk for almost half an hour from the parking lot to reach the base of the waterfall. But when we stood before the cascading white water, all the fatigue vanished. It’s an experience that only places like Ba Waterfall can offer,” Minh added.
With its natural beauty, rich experiences, and gentle sense of adventure, Ba Waterfall is gradually becoming an unmissable destination when traveling to the southeastern part of Lam Dong province. Whether you are a photography enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply looking for a place to relax amidst the mountains and forests, Ba Waterfall can meet your needs. And surely, after one visit, you will want to return to once more immerse yourself in the cascading white water, the sound of the waterfall, and the refreshing scent of the forest.
