In the 70th minute of the match between CAHN and Ninh Binh on the evening of February 1st, midfielder Nguyen Thai Son unexpectedly fell to the ground despite not having collided with anyone. The new signing for the team from the ancient capital immediately clutched his left knee in pain, his face contorted in agony. Doctors quickly rushed onto the field to attend to him before carrying him off the pitch on a stretcher, much to the concern of the coaching staff and teammates.

After the match, the midfielder was unable to move on his own and had to be carried into the dressing room by an assistant coach. Initial tests revealed that the Ninh Binh player had torn his anterior cruciate ligament. Thai Son will undergo surgery in the near future and faces a prolonged recovery period.

This was a huge shock for Thai Son personally as well as Ninh Binh. The midfielder, who previously played for Thanh Hoa, had just joined the team from the ancient capital, and the match against CAHN was his debut in his new colors.

Introduced into the game by coach Gerard Albadalejo at the start of the second half, Thai Son played aggressively, actively contesting for the ball and leaving a certain mark in the midfield, before bad luck struck.

This serious injury will likely keep Thai Son off the pitch for 8 to 9 months. This means the 2025/26 V.League season will end prematurely for the Vietnam U23 midfielder.

On that same disappointing day, Ninh Binh also couldn't enjoy complete joy. Despite taking the lead, the team from the ancient capital still allowed CAHN to come back and win 3-2. This defeat ended Ninh Binh's streak of 11 wins in the V.League and 36 unbeaten matches in all competitions, leaving much regret for coach Albadalejo and his team.
