Visit and pay tribute to 3 outstanding artists

(NLDO) - City leaders visited and presented gifts to outstanding artists who have made many contributions to the literature and arts of Ho Chi Minh City over the past time.

On the morning of July 28, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - together with representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports , the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Literature and Arts Associations, the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association, and the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association visited People's Artist Hung Minh, People's Artist Truong Lo and writer Xuan Phuong.

This visit aims to recognize and pay tribute to the contributions of artists in general and artists who participated in the revolution, artists who won the State Prize, Ho Chi Minh Prize, People's Artist, Meritorious Artist, who have worked and contributed to the development of literature and art in the city over the past 50 years.

At the private home of People's Artist Hung Minh (Thong Tay Hoi ward, Ho Chi Minh City), Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong kindly asked about his health and expressed his gratitude for his profound contributions to the art scene in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the country in general.

At the age of 84, artist Hung Minh, despite his old age and poor health, is still optimistic and cheerful. He currently lives with his wife, artist Hoa Lan. Artist Hung Minh is occasionally invited to perform and participate in voiceovers for animated films. Despite his limited memory, he is still diligent in his career, wishing to contribute to art.

When visiting People's Artist Truong Lo, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong expressed his deep respect for his great contributions to the profession, to art and to the cultural field of Ho Chi Minh City.

On behalf of the city's leaders, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong presented gifts and wished People's Artist Truong Lo and his family good health, and continued to accompany and contribute to the development of Ho Chi Minh City's literature and arts in the coming time.

The delegation also visited writer Xuan Phuong, where the female writer told the story of fighting the resistance war alone.

From stories of working as a nurse in the Viet Bac war zone to working as an explosives technician at Mr. Tran Dai Nghia's military weapons factory.
