According to Bild , Karl's current contract with Bayern Munich will automatically be converted into a professional contract until 2029 when the player turns 18 next month. This clause was included in the agreement between the two parties beforehand, to ensure that Bayern does not lose their prized youth academy talent for free.

However, Bayern's management isn't finished yet. The Allianz Arena club is in negotiations to extend Karl's contract until 2031, with a significant increase in salary. If he signs the new contract, Karl will receive a substantial pay raise, from his current €1–2 million per season to around €5–7 million per year, thus reflecting his true value and potential.

At 17 years old, Karl is experiencing what is considered a turning point in his career. Under the guidance of coach Vincent Kompany, this young talent is quickly being given regular playing time in Bayern's first team, something that is not easy to achieve in a team with so many stars.

However, Karl's recent statements have displeased many prominent figures at Bayern. Specifically, the young midfielder admitted his desire to play for Real Madrid in the future, rather than committing to a long-term future with Bayern Munich.

Former chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge reportedly had an immediate and heated phone call with Michael Ballack, Lennart Karl's agent. During the conversation, Rummenigge demanded a public apology and suggested the club consider suspending all activities related to Karl for the foreseeable future.
