A playground for intellectual exploration and vivid experiences.
Arriving early at the event, we witnessed an incredibly vibrant atmosphere. After the qualifying rounds, which involved over 90,000 students from 188 junior high schools, the 25 most outstanding teams converged on the final round. In a captivating theatrical format, the competing teams continuously tested their skills through four challenges: Setting Sail, Overcoming Waves, Reaching the Shore, and Establishing Sovereignty Markers.

The students demonstrated excellent general knowledge about national traditions, the history of nation-building and defense, the position and role of the sea and islands, the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, the Law on the Vietnam Coast Guard, and environmental protection. Their flexibility and intelligence in each answer not only affirmed the young generation's profound understanding of the country's sea and islands but also generated excitement among hundreds of spectators in the stands.
Contributing to the success of the final round was a series of meaningful practical experience activities. For the first time, students had the opportunity to directly visit the Coast Guard vessel CSB 8002. Standing on the deck of CSB 8002, listening to stories about the voyages of Coast Guard officers and soldiers, the lesson about patriotism suddenly became more real and relatable than ever before.

It was these vivid experiences that fueled his breakthrough. Sharing his joy upon stepping down from the podium to receive his award, Pham Tran Thien Quang, a student from Tinh Ky Secondary School in Quang Ngai and captain of the "Sea Star" team that won first prize, expressed: "Today's victory is thanks to the great encouragement from my family and teachers. During the preparation process, I read many documents and watched videos about the forces protecting national sovereignty to share with the whole team. Most importantly, knowledge about the sea and islands is not just on paper, but in the heart. When learning with love for the country, all laws become more accessible. Upon returning to school, I will spread this meaningful image and want to tell my friends: An experience in the sea of our homeland is a lesson in gratitude. Let the love for the sea and islands grow along with the responsibility of the younger generation."

In addition, the art exhibition "The Sea, Islands of the Fatherland and the Coast Guard Soldiers," held alongside the event, also attracted a large number of visitors with its innocent drawings vividly depicting the love for the homeland, the sea, and the islands of the students.

Evaluating the effectiveness of this collaborative model, Mr. Dang Van Nhat, Principal of Phan Boi Chau Secondary School (Da Nang), observed: The partnership with the Coast Guard helps schools solve the difficult problem of reforming traditional educational methods. Instead of learning theory, students participate in practical experiences. The program not only trains teamwork skills and creative thinking but also directly fosters revolutionary ideals, love for the homeland, and respect for the law in the future generation.
The program became even more meaningful when the organizers donated 21 55-inch televisions to schools with students participating in the final round to support digital transformation, along with many scholarships for underprivileged students. At the end of the competition, first prize went to the "Sao Bien" team (Quang Ngai); second prize was awarded to "Hai Dang" (Quang Tri) and "Hoang Sa" (Da Nang); and third prize went to "Bien Dong" (Hue) and "Bien Xanh" (Gia Lai).
Speaking to reporters about the program, Colonel Tran Hong Que, Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 2 and Deputy Head of the competition organizing committee, shared: "The combination of knowledge-based competition activities, practical experiences, and social welfare work has taken the competition beyond the scope of a typical intellectual playground. Our core goal is that through this visual educational forum, the seeds of patriotism and the desire to contribute will be sown and take root in the hearts of young people. From there, each student will become an active propagandist, contributing to building a solid 'people's support' from early on and from afar in the cause of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's seas and islands."
