Sydney, Australia's largest city and self-proclaimed "New Year's capital of the world ," stunned many with its traditional fireworks display above the Harbour Bridge.

Tens of thousands of people gathered at locations along the riverbank to witness the performance. Approximately 8 tons of fireworks were used, costing around $4.8 million.

New Yorkers are ready to celebrate New Year's Eve in Times Square, as they do every year.

Of course, the iconic ball drop ceremony in Times Square at midnight on New Year's Eve is indispensable, a highlight of New York as it ushers in a new year.

Crowds gathered in Madrid (Spain) to celebrate Preuvas at Puerta del Sol ahead of the new year.

Following New Zealand and Sydney, a number of Asian countries also celebrated the new year 2024, including Japan, North Korea, and South Korea. In Japan, people flocked to temples in central Tokyo to witness the traditional bell-ringing ceremony, known as Joya no Kane.

In Seoul, South Korea, the city government organized a New Year's Eve bell-ringing ceremony that attracted around 100,000 attendees – double the size of last year.

Thailand welcomed 2024 with a spectacular fireworks display illuminating the sky over the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. Approximately 50,000 fireworks were launched to create the impressive spectacle.
