Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Thạnh Phước Commune Children's Council organized a visit and exchange with historical witnesses at the Memorial Area for Martyrs of Regiment 207 - Military Region 8, with the theme "Stories from the Time of Fire and Flowers".
At the program, more than 60 youth union members listened to Mr. Nguyen Van To (residing in Thanh Phuoc commune) - known as "The Keeper of the Flame on Da Bien Land" - share authentic and moving stories about the glorious fighting days of the soldiers of Battalion 1, Regiment 207.
Through each recreated memory, the tenacious fighting spirit and indomitable will of previous generations left a deep impression, contributing to the further nurturing of ideals and responsibilities for today's youth. In addition, the Youth Union members also kindly inquired about Mr. Tờ's health and presented him with gifts of gratitude, expressing their profound appreciation for his contributions to the national liberation struggle.

Participating in the program, Nguyen Thi Anh Thu, a 9th-grade student from Thanh Phuoc Secondary School, shared: “Hearing stories directly from historical witnesses, I understand more clearly the immense sacrifices of our ancestors. This will be a motivation for me to strive in my studies and training, and contribute my youthful energy to my homeland.”
According to Tran Tuan Nhien, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Phuoc commune and Secretary of the commune's Youth Union: "Stories from historical witnesses not only help young people better understand the glorious past of the nation but also serve as a source of motivation for today's youth to continue to train, contribute, and build a more developed homeland. In the coming time, the commune's Youth Union will continue to organize many meaningful activities to spread the values of history and revolutionary traditions to its members and young people in the area."
In addition, the Tan Tru Commune Youth Union Council, in coordination with Nguyen Van Dau Primary and Secondary School and Nguyen Van Thuan Primary School, organized the "Grandparents Tell Stories to Their Grandchildren" activity with many practical contents. The students visited the home of Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Dai (residing in Binh Duc Hamlet, Tan Tru Commune). Mother Dai's husband and one son bravely sacrificed their lives in the resistance war against the US. Despite her advanced age and frail health, when recalling the arduous years of war, her eyes still shone with pride mixed with emotion.

During the meeting, the students had the opportunity to interact and express their feelings and respect for Mother Dai. Kind words of greeting and small gifts were given personally, demonstrating the deep gratitude of the younger generation for the immense sacrifices she made for national independence.
Nguyen Ngoc Bao Anh, a 7th-grade student from Nguyen Van Dau Primary and Secondary School, shared: “When I heard my mother tell the story, I was very moved and proud. I understand that many people sacrificed themselves to have the peaceful life we have today. I promise to study hard to be worthy of the contributions of previous generations.”
According to Tran Thanh Tong, Deputy Secretary of the Tan Tru Commune Youth Union: "Through the 'Grandparents Tell Stories to Grandchildren' activity, the local Youth Union and Children's Union hope to create an environment for students to access history in a visual and engaging way. This contributes to shaping beautiful ideals, fostering appreciation for peace , and encouraging students to strive for academic excellence to build their homeland."
These meaningful activities not only contribute to educating about revolutionary traditions but also strengthen the bond between generations, arousing pride and responsibility among young people in building their homeland and country in the new era.
