As of November 20th, the construction volume for the two packages of the Nguyen Trai bridge project reached 1,362.3 billion VND, equivalent to 36% of the plan.
Specifically, the contract for the construction of the approach bridge, access roads, and interchange is valued at VND 1,435 billion. The construction unit is simultaneously deploying 14 pile foundation and bridge pier construction teams on both banks of the Thuy Nguyen and Ngo Quyen districts. To date, 308 out of 340 pile foundations have been completed; 21 out of 29 branch bridge abutments and piers have been completed, along with 20 out of 20 approach bridge abutments and piers, and 21 out of 26 retaining wall sections have been completed. The embankment for the approach road has been constructed, with a total value of VND 949 billion, equivalent to 67% of the plan. This is a contract where city leaders requested a reduction in construction time of 11 months compared to the original contract.

With the main cable-stayed bridge construction contract valued at VND 2.367 billion, the contractor has completed 84 out of 88 bored piles, 2 piers (T10 and T13), and the foundation of tower pier T11. Currently, the contractor is deploying two teams to construct bored piles for tower pier T12 and the main body of tower pier T11. The completed volume of the contract has reached VND 413.3 billion, equivalent to 18% of the plan.
By the end of November 20th, contractors had disbursed over 98% of the allocated capital for 2025.
According to the design, the Nguyen Trai Bridge spanning the Cam River is a permanent structure with a length of 1,476.4 m. The main bridge section, 550.6 m long, is a cable-stayed bridge, with the main span having one plane of cables and the side spans having two planes of cables. The tower height is 111 m. The length of the approach bridge on the Thuy Nguyen district side is 459 m, and the length of the approach bridge on the Ngo Quyen district side is 466.8 m.
The main bridge is 26.5 m wide, and the approach bridge is 23.5 m wide, comprising 4 lanes for motorized vehicles and 2 lanes for mixed traffic. The design speed for the main bridge is 80 km/h; the design load is HL93; the navigable clearance is BxH=165x25 m.
