Competing for breakthroughs in new tasks.

When three whistles sounded signaling the start of the break, the officers and soldiers gathered to listen to Major Nguyen Manh Cuong, the Battalion's Political Officer, recount the story of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to the Air Defense Forces.

In the story, Major Nguyen Manh Cuong takes the officers and soldiers back to the fierce years of war, to the time when President Ho Chi Minh visited the Air Defense Force in early 1964. Speaking to the officers and soldiers, President Ho Chi Minh instructed: “You must always be vigilant and ready to fight at all times. You must resolutely shoot down enemy aircraft if they dare to violate the airspace of North Vietnam.” Following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, the officers and soldiers of the unit enthusiastically competed to kill the enemy and achieve meritorious deeds. During the resistance war against the US, the battalion shot down 43 American aircraft, including one B-52, and captured many enemy pilots...

The story evoked a range of emotions in the soldiers. Corporal Nguyen Ngoc Truong Thanh, the control operator of Company 1, Battalion 73, said emotionally: “President Ho Chi Minh is a shining example for everyone to learn from and follow. He dedicated his entire life to the revolutionary cause, for national independence and the happiness of the people. It is an honor and a source of pride to work in a unit with such a rich tradition; we are even more determined to compete and achieve many accomplishments as a tribute to our beloved Uncle Ho.”

Similar to the 285th Regiment, the agencies and units of the 363rd Division have been demonstrating a high level of spirit and responsibility in all activities and have achieved many outstanding accomplishments. From the beginning of 2025 to the present, 100% of the combat duty units in Block A of the 363rd Division have excellently completed their tasks, receiving the flag for outstanding combat duty units; excellently completed the acceptance testing of new weapons; organized branch party congresses, departmental party committees, and grassroots party committees in advance for the Air Force according to proper procedures and principles, and received commendation from superiors... The Division has invested hundreds of millions of dong and many man-days of soldiers to consolidate and build green, clean, and beautiful units and help local people with environmental sanitation, forest fire fighting, disaster relief, and cleaning of martyrs' cemeteries. Units within the Division have visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiary families and those who have contributed to the revolution, worth hundreds of millions of dong...

Colonel Nguyen Trong Tien, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the 363rd Division, stated: The unit's emulation movements always focus on successfully fulfilling the central political tasks, making breakthroughs in new, difficult, and important tasks; overcoming weaknesses and shortcomings; promptly encouraging and motivating collectives and individuals to resolutely achieve the assigned tasks, practically making achievements to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth and the 60th anniversary of the Division's tradition (May 19); contributing to building a strong, comprehensive, "exemplary and outstanding" unit, firmly protecting the Northeast airspace of the Fatherland.
