Exemplary role models in emulation campaigns across all professions.
At Gieng Day Construction Ceramics Joint Stock Company (Ha Long City) - a shining example in Quang Ninh's construction materials industry - the emulation movement is strongly promoted. The culture of emulation here stems from the encouragement of creativity and the development of collective intelligence by the company's leadership. Every year, the company records dozens of technical improvement initiatives from its employees, with clear results in productivity, quality, and production costs.
Mr. Doan Tien Dung, General Director of Gieng Day Construction Ceramics Joint Stock Company, shared: “We organize emulation movements in all aspects, from increasing productivity and improving product quality to ensuring occupational safety and hygiene, taking care of the lives of workers, and at the same time promptly rewarding valuable initiatives. Every year, the entire company has more than 20 technical improvement initiatives recognized.”
In 2024, despite difficulties from raw material prices, weather, and market conditions, Gieng Day Construction Ceramics Joint Stock Company still produced over 70.3 million products, generating revenue of nearly 99 billion VND, and the average income of its employees reached 10.8 million VND/person/month.
One of the outstanding examples is Mr. Doan Viet Cuong, Team Leader of the Preform Machine Operation Team. Under Mr. Cuong's leadership, the Preform Machine Operation Team maintains a productivity of 90,000-100,000 thin product pieces per day, 10-15% higher than the average of other teams. Besides his machine operation skills, Mr. Cuong is also enthusiastic in mentoring new workers, fostering a spirit of teamwork and workplace safety. "For me, competition is about daily action. Today must be better than yesterday, the products must be more beautiful, the machines more stable, and productivity higher," Mr. Cuong shared.
Not only in the processing industry, but also in the logistics and service sector, the emulation movement has spread strongly. Van Don International Airport (Van Don Investment Joint Stock Company - Sun Group) is a clear example. As Vietnam's first privately owned airport, it aims not only to open the skies but also to serve customers with the best quality service.
Over the years, staff at Van Don International Airport have contributed numerous technical initiatives, many of which have been highly appreciated at the provincial and central levels. A prime example is the Mechanical and Electrical Department of the Infrastructure Engineering Division, with their proposal to "Self-repair X-ray emitters on the security screening system," saving the unit 1.18 billion VND per year, shortening repair time, and enhancing its technical autonomy.
Mr. Dam Xuan Binh, Head of the Mechanical and Electrical Department, said: “The emulation movement is not something far-fetched, but simply about doing our daily work well. Besides mastering technology, we have also implemented a series of other initiatives such as patching runways, backup software for the parking guidance system… saving hundreds of millions of dong.”
Trade unions work together, businesses promote emulation.
In Quang Ninh, there are more than 400,000 workers. working in various fields Mining, thermal power, cement, building materials, logistics, tourism... patriotic emulation movements are not just slogans, but are concretized through political tasks, production goals, realistic emulation criteria, and timely reward mechanisms.
The Quang Ninh Trade Union proactively launched emulation movements right from the beginning of the year, linked to peak periods such as: Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health, 90-day emulation campaign to complete quarterly targets… Many places have developed specific emulation criteria for each industry, each production team, each machine team, helping the emulation to closely follow reality and go into depth.
Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor To Xuan Thao He stated: “We believe that patriotic emulation must become a self-driven movement among workers, stemming from the need to improve productivity, income, skills, and the status of workers. The trade union not only initiates the movement but also accompanies it, listens to its members, and organizes timely awards to replicate best practices.”
At Gieng Day Construction Ceramics Joint Stock Company, the grassroots trade union always proactively coordinates with the professional departments to launch emulation movements for innovative ideas and organizes open and fair evaluation and reward processes. Individuals like Mr. Doan Viet Cuong are commended not only for their production results, but also for their sense of responsibility and positive influence within the team.
At Van Don International Airport, the trade union plays a crucial role in connecting workers with management, listening to suggestions from technical departments to propose policies supporting and investing in technical improvements. This has enabled initiatives such as repairing screening equipment and patching runways to be implemented smoothly, yielding practical results.
Furthermore, the supportive and facilitating role of businesses is crucial. Businesses not only focus on productivity and profit, but also care about building a safe and friendly working environment, creating a foundation for employees to develop their individual capabilities.
It is evident that the patriotic emulation movement in Quang Ninh is deepening, no longer just a slogan, but becoming concrete actions in every production line and every shift. From the synchronized involvement of trade unions and enterprises to the creativity and efforts of each worker, the patriotic emulation movement has been and is making a significant contribution to the rapid and sustainable development of the Heroic Mining Region in the era of digital transformation and international integration.
