Practical emulation within the trade union system

- To celebrate many important and meaningful events taking place in 2025, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Union (LĐLĐ) has launched a patriotic emulation movement among union members, workers, and employees. The Provincial Labor Union is determined to innovate, be proactive and creative, streamline efficiency, improve labor productivity, save money, and combat waste.

The Provincial Federation of Labor Unions signed emulation agreements with the directly superior grassroots trade unions and affiliated emulation blocs.

2025 is a particularly important year, the final year to achieve the socio -economic development targets and tasks of the province for the 2021-2025 period. It is also the year of the Party Congresses at all levels and the National Emulation Congresses at all levels. The theme of the patriotic emulation movement among workers and employees is defined as: “Determined to innovate, actively create, improve labor productivity and work efficiency, save resources, combat waste, and welcome the Party Congresses at all levels, the 12th An Giang Provincial Party Congress, leading up to the 14th National Party Congress, the National Emulation Congresses at all levels, and the 11th National Emulation Congress for workers and employees in 2025.”

Along with launching specific emulation campaigns, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Union signed emulation agreements with higher-level grassroots trade unions. The content focused on widely disseminating Ho Chi Minh's ideology on patriotic emulation and the working class, and the trade union organization; the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, and those of the trade union organization, especially the amended Trade Union Law and the Law on Emulation and Commendation; and publicizing key events taking place during the year.

Furthermore, trade union levels strive to improve labor productivity and work efficiency, contributing to the excellent fulfillment of assigned tasks. They effectively implement programs and plans to concretize Resolution 02-NQ/TW of the Politburo on "Renewing the organization and operation of the Vietnam Trade Union in the new situation"; the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union; and the theme of trade union activities in 2025, "Focusing on developing union membership and participating in building a clean and strong Party," in conjunction with promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, and the emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the province.

In 2025, the trade union organization is determined to develop its membership and establish grassroots trade unions, especially in non-state-owned enterprises. It will encourage union members and workers to promote initiatives and creativity, and to compete in building, accelerating progress, and completing projects and products in celebration of the Party Congress at all levels and the National Emulation Congress at all levels. It will thoroughly understand and effectively implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies on streamlining organizational structures and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of trade union activities at all levels; promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members, officials, and employees to disseminate information and encourage their consensus and compliance with decisions on organizational restructuring and job positions.

This year, the province aims to recruit at least 14,200 new union members (13,250 in the formal sector and 950 in the informal sector), and establish 100% of grassroots trade unions in enterprises with 20 or more employees. On average, each grassroots trade union will recommend 1-2 outstanding members for the Party to consider for membership. The goal is for 85% or more of union members and workers to receive information, education, and thorough understanding of the Party's guidelines and resolutions, and the State's policies and laws related to labor and trade unions; and for trade unions to promote at least 65% of workers in enterprises to participate in training to improve their professional skills and qualifications.

The trade union also set many targets focusing on the grassroots level, especially at enterprises, regarding the organization of dialogues and employee conferences; the establishment of women's committees; and the negotiation and signing of collective labor agreements in accordance with the law. The goal is for 100% of grassroots trade unions in enterprises to organize the Workers' Month in 2025; and to conduct dialogues and negotiations with employers to adjust and increase the value of meal allowances in 10 enterprises according to regulations.

The Provincial Labor Union also set higher targets for welfare activities compared to 2024. Specifically, 30% of union members will benefit from preferential products and services under signed welfare programs; 100% of union members with particularly difficult circumstances will receive visits and support. The entire province will support 60 "Union Shelter" houses for union members and workers facing housing difficulties, including the construction of at least 40 new houses; 90% or more of enterprises with grassroots trade union organizations will pay union fees through the common account of the Vietnam Trade Union; 100% of trade unions at all levels will publicly disclose their finances as required...
