Tran Ngoc Dan Thanh, a student from Nghia Minh High School in Nam Dinh, was the only candidate to achieve a perfect score of 10 out of more than one million Literature exam papers.
According to the distribution of scores for the Literature subject in the high school graduation exam, over one million candidates nationwide achieved an average score of 6.86. The most common score was 7. There were 92 candidates who failed; and over 73,600 others scored below average.
While last year five students achieved a perfect score on the Literature exam, this year only one exam received a perfect 10. This exam was taken by Tran Ngoc Dan Thanh, a student from Nghia Minh High School in Nam Dinh.
Besides Literature, this candidate's results in other subjects were also good, including Math 8, History 9, Geography 8, Civic Education 9.75, and English 9. Dan Thanh's total admission score for Block C is 27.

This year's high school graduation exam took place over two days, June 28-29, with more than one million candidates participating. Of these, over 943,300 used their results for both graduation recognition and university/college admissions.
After receiving their exam results, candidates wishing to appeal must submit their applications before July 27th. Registration, adjustment, and addition of university admission preferences will continue until 5 PM on July 30th and there is no limit to the number of times. From July 31st to 5 PM on August 6th, candidates must pay the university admission application fee online.
The Ministry of Education and Training and universities began the process of reviewing and processing university applications from August 12th to 20th, thereby determining the highest-priority choices for successful candidates.
From 5 PM on August 22nd, universities will announce the cut-off scores and the list of admitted students for the first round. Candidates must confirm their enrollment before 5 PM on September 6th.
