This information was shared by Mr. Bui Minh Nhut, Director of Strategy at APBev, at the launch ceremony of AP Beverage Production and Trading Joint Stock Company (APBev). According to Mr. Nhut, the Vietnamese beverage market is maintaining a growth rate of approximately 8% per year and is projected to reach a size of 5.5-6 billion USD by 2030. The growth drivers of the industry not only come from the population size of over 100 million people but also from changes in consumer behavior, especially among young customers.

Citing the report "Consumer Trends 2026: A Perspective from FMCG Retail Data" published by NielsenIQ in May 2026, Mr. Nhut stated that up to 86% of Vietnamese consumers prioritize quality over quantity, 92% are willing to try new brands, and 91% value the consumer experience. The trend of choosing products with less sugar, lower energy, added nutrients, and natural origins is becoming increasingly popular.
This shift is driving a new wave of investment in the beverage sector. Besides product development, many businesses are focusing on upgrading production technology to meet increasingly high demands for quality, food safety, and sustainable development.
In Dong Nai , APBev has just announced plans to invest in a beverage production plant with a total projected capital of $80 million. The plant, to be built in Giang Dien Industrial Park, Dong Nai City, will utilize Dry Preform Aseptic technology and will have an initial capacity of approximately 70 million liters of product per year.
According to Mr. Nhut, this technology allows for bottle blowing, filling, and capping in a sterile, enclosed environment, helping to preserve the natural flavor and nutrients of the product. Notably, the system also contributes to saving water and energy and reducing environmental impact during the production process.
According to experts, along with the trend of green consumption and the demand for reduced emissions in production, resource-saving technology is becoming one of the key competitive factors in the beverage industry. Instead of just focusing on expanding market share, many businesses are moving towards more environmentally efficient production models to meet the demands of the market and consumers in this new era.
