Located 8km from the center of Tay Ninh city, Thien Lam Ancient Pagoda, also known as Go Ken Pagoda, sits on National Highway 22B in Long Thanh Trung commune, Hoa Thanh district. Amidst the vast green expanse of rice fields and trees, the people of Tay Ninh are always proud of this magnificent structure built on a high mound of land covering an area of up to 6000 square meters.

Join author Vu Thanh Tung in admiring the ancient yet magnificent beauty of Thien Lam Pagoda through the photo series "Thien Lam Pagoda - Tay Ninh". This series was submitted by the author to the Happy Vietnam Photo and Video Contest, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications .

Thiền Lâm Pagoda, or as it's commonly called by the locals in my hometown, Gò Kén Pagoda, is one of the oldest pagodas in Tây Ninh, with a history spanning over a hundred years. The oldest pagoda in this sacred land bordering Vietnam, Gò Kén Pagoda is an ancient temple whose architectural complex is a blend of Eastern and Western cultures, combining the ancient and the modern. The temple complex is divided into many areas such as the main hall, bell tower, ceremonial tower, statue areas, gardens, etc. In front of the temple, the image of the meditating Buddha Shakyamuni under the cool shade of a Bodhi tree gives visitors a feeling of peace and tranquility. On the other hand, the 25-meter-high statue of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva riding a dragon, placed solemnly on a white lotus pedestal in the middle of the lake, and the sacred 25-meter-long reclining Buddha statue have become rare sights, attracting not only many Buddhists to worship but also stimulating the curiosity of tourists from near and far. Lumbini Garden within the grounds of Go Ken Pagoda, Tay Ninh The interior of the main hall is not designed horizontally or in a linear fashion from front to back, following the traditional style of ancient Southern Vietnamese temples. Instead, it breaks away from this design with two rows of vertical columns, each row containing six columns, dividing the space into three separate sections while still maintaining an open and spacious feel. Exquisite architectural carvings adorn the roof of Go Ken Pagoda in Tay Ninh.

Go Ken Pagoda in Tay Ninh is one of the ancient temples, over a hundred years old, in the sunny and windy land of Tay Ninh. This pagoda currently possesses the largest statue of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara in the Southeast region of Vietnam.
