Children of Can Tho - Celebrating Tet with Family Reunion

The Children's Day program, organized by the Can Tho City Youth Union and Children's Council in coordination with relevant departments and agencies, took place all day on January 31st at Luu Huu Phuoc Park, Ninh Kieu Children's Cultural House, and Hoa Binh Street in Ninh Kieu Ward.

Notably, the art program held that evening was attended by Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the People's Council of Can Tho City, along with many city leaders.

The art program, staged with high artistic merit and reflecting a joyful atmosphere, consisted of three parts: "Can Tho Children Following Uncle Ho's Teachings," "Brilliant Vietnam," and "Tet Reunion"... performed by children from Can Tho City, attracting thousands of spectators, mostly children.

Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the People's Council of Can Tho City, presented gifts to children at the program.

Ms. Ma Thi Tuoi, Standing Committee Member of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Can Tho City People's Council, and Mr. Le Tan Thu, Standing Committee Member and Head of the Internal Affairs Department of the Can Tho City Party Committee, presented gifts to children at the program.

Mr. Le Cong Ly, Standing Committee Member of the City Party Committee and Head of the Management Board of Export Processing Zones and Industrial Parks of Can Tho City, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Xuan, Chairman of the Can Tho City Association for the Promotion of Learning, presented gifts to children at the program.

At the event, the Can Tho City Youth Union and Children's Council presented 200 gifts, worth a total of 200 million VND, to disadvantaged children in the city, funded through social mobilization.

"Children's Festival" is an annual event held before the Lunar New Year, organized by the Can Tho City Youth Union, aiming to create a healthy and beneficial playground for children; demonstrating the concern and care of all levels and sectors for children in the city.

With the theme "Can Tho Children - Celebrating Tet Reunion," this year's Children's Festival features many rich and attractive activities. Following the opening ceremony is the "Tet in My Eyes" playground - children compete in giving presentations about Tet in English; a connecting program at the Ninh Kieu Children's Cultural Center for 200 disadvantaged children in the city; an exhibition of products from the painting competition celebrating the election of representatives to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; and 20 accompanying booths.

The highlight of the festival is the street parade – children dressed up as fairy tale and cartoon characters, along with talented children from the Ninh Kieu Children's Cultural Center and clubs, teams, and groups in the city, participating in the parade, creating a vibrant and colorful festival atmosphere.
