Tho Xuan meets with press agencies

To commemorate the 99th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2024), on the afternoon of June 12, Tho Xuan district organized a meeting with press agencies operating in the province.

Overview of the meeting

At the meeting, the leaders of Tho Xuan district highly appreciated the attention and contributions of central and local press agencies to the achievements the district has made in the past. They expressed their sincere gratitude to the press agencies for accompanying the locality, providing timely, in-depth, and high-quality information on key issues and major tasks implemented by the Party Committee, government, and people of Tho Xuan district in the past, contributing to the local development. They also presented a summary report on the results of the tasks performed in the first six months of 2024, highlighting the socio-economic development targets. Of the 36 targets set, the district assessed 18 targets, with 6 targets completed or exceeded; 10 targets achieving over 50% of the plan; and 2 targets achieving 50% of the plan.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Van Dong district presented a summary report on the results of the district's tasks in the first six months of 2024 at the meeting.

In the agricultural sector, the district continues to promote land consolidation and land concentration for large-scale agricultural production. The advanced new rural development program is receiving attention and guidance. To date, 14 communes have achieved advanced new rural status (the highest number in the province); and 9 out of 9 criteria for an advanced new rural district have been completed.

Industrial and construction production continued to maintain a high growth rate; the value of industrial and handicraft production was estimated at 546 million VND, an increase of 5.9% compared to the same period; enterprise development was accelerated, with 83 out of 150 new enterprises established by June 10, 2024, equivalent to 55.3% of the plan.

In the coming period, Tho Xuan district will continue to focus on implementing decisively and effectively the goals, tasks, and plans for the last six months of 2024. The focus will be on implementing solutions to build Tho Xuan into an advanced new rural district, becoming the first advanced new rural district in the province. The district will also work to develop communes and towns to meet the criteria of wards, so that Tho Xuan can become a town before 2030.

For the industrial sector, continue to focus on coordinating with investors to complete the infrastructure of phase 1 of the Lam Son - Sao Vang Industrial Park and other industrial clusters in the district. Focus on completing the two urban sub-area planning schemes for Lam Son - Sao Vang and the general urban planning scheme for Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province, up to 2045. Focus on significantly improving the investment and business environment, with a focus on administrative procedure reform and improving the District Competitiveness Index (DDCI), striving to rank first in the province by 2024.

Representatives of the resident press agencies spoke at the meeting.

Representatives from local and central press agencies, along with resident reporters operating in the province, expressed their delight at the achievements Thọ Xuân district has made in recent times. They also hoped that the district would continue to create more favorable conditions for reporters to access information, enabling them to promptly and accurately report on issues, events, socio-economic programs, and exemplary models and best practices within the district.

Secretary of the Tho Xuan District Party Committee Le Dinh Hai delivered a speech at the meeting.

At the meeting, the leaders of Tho Xuan district expressed their hope that in the coming time, press agencies and reporters will continue to cooperate and work alongside the district, promptly disseminating information and truthfully reflecting various aspects of social life, contributing to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development goals and plans set forth by the Party Committee, government, and people of the district.
