| Besides farming and livestock raising, her family also invests in businesses that generate a considerable income. |
Despite owning nearly 1 hectare of farmland, due to a lack of capital, experience, and a failure to find a suitable direction, most of the family's land was left fallow. Their main source of income relied on small-scale, fragmented agricultural production, resulting in a constant struggle to make ends meet.
Refusing to remain trapped in poverty, Mr. Nguyen and Ms. Huong were determined to change their mindset and approach. Besides actively visiting and learning from successful economic models both locally and internationally, they also made time to read books and newspapers and search for information online to research production models suitable for their family's circumstances.
Drawing on their accumulated knowledge, the couple boldly reclaimed the entire area of abandoned land. Areas with high ground and good drought resistance were planned for planting about 2 acres of hybrid tea. Recognizing that quality is the decisive factor in product output, from the beginning the family applied VietGAP and organic farming practices, limiting the use of chemicals, ensuring consumer safety and protecting the environment.
In addition, about 6-7 acres of land were converted to rice and other crops using new, high-yielding, and high-quality varieties. Thanks to the bold application of scientific and technological advancements in production, crop yields have steadily increased. Not only does this ensure food security for the family, but agricultural products also serve as feed for livestock, significantly reducing production costs.
Recognizing livestock farming as a crucial economic development direction, the family regularly maintains two breeding sows to raise commercial pigs, selling approximately 20 pigs per batch. In addition, they raise nearly 100 chickens and ducks of various breeds. This integrated farming and livestock model has helped the family effectively utilize available resources and generate a stable income.

| Thanks to her bold decision to diversify her business, Ms. Duong Thi Huong's family now enjoys a comfortable life. |
Gradually accumulating capital, the couple continued to expand their economic development by opening a livestock feed business combined with a general store. Thanks to their business reputation, dedicated customer service, and stable supply of goods, their business became increasingly successful, bringing in a significant income. With a diversified economic model encompassing farming, livestock raising, and service businesses, the family earns an average of about 200 million VND per year. From just having enough to eat, the family now has savings. They have built a spacious house, bought a car, and acquired many modern amenities.
Not only focusing on developing their family's economy, the couple is also willing to share their production, livestock farming, and business experiences with other households who want to learn. Their closeness, responsibility, and community spirit have earned them the trust and respect of the people in the hamlet. It is because of this trust that Mr. Trieu Hong Nguyen was elected as the hamlet head by over 100 households in Hoa Binh hamlet. In his position, he always sets a good example, leading patriotic emulation movements, actively mobilizing the people to develop the economy, build a cultural life, and contribute to building a new rural area.
