In recent years, many women's households in Luong Hoa village (Luong Son commune) have boldly switched to growing vegetables in a safe and sustainable manner. Currently, the village has about 10 households growing vegetables with a total area of approximately 2.5 hectares. A diverse range of vegetables are cultivated to meet market demands, with a focus on food safety and consumer health.
Ms. Tran Thi Nguyen's family currently cultivates nearly 2 sao (approximately 2,000 square meters) of safe vegetables. Through the Women's Union of the commune, she accessed loans from the Job Creation program to invest in production. "Although vegetable farming doesn't yield high profits, it provides a more regular and stable income than before. Each season, the cost of seeds, fertilizer, and labor for each sao of vegetables is about 10 million VND/sao," Ms. Nguyen shared. According to Ms. Nguyen, many households also utilize vegetable waste to raise chickens and cows, contributing to increased family income. Thanks to the wholesale market in Luong Son, the product's output is quite favorable. Harvested vegetables are sold steadily locally and in the communes of Bac Binh area.
Thanks to policy-based credit funds, many members have had more opportunities to develop their family economies. Since the beginning of the year, the association has supported 20 members in accessing preferential loan funds, raising the total outstanding loan balance to nearly 38 billion VND.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung from Lap Binh village is one of the exemplary women who overcame difficulties to develop their family's economy. Previously, her family faced many hardships when they moved from the North to the area to start a new life. Recognizing that her aging dragon fruit trees were no longer productive, she boldly converted nearly 5 acres to planting jackfruit and guava. Thanks to a loan from the Women's Union of the commune, she continued to invest in expanding her fruit orchard and established connections with wholesale markets in the area. To date, her family's economy has gradually stabilized thanks to the income from her orchard. Besides focusing on economic development, she also actively participates in charitable activities such as providing free meals at Ngoc Minh Pagoda and Ham Thuan Nam Hospital.
According to the Provincial Women's Union, supporting women's economic development, entrepreneurship, and sustainable poverty reduction has always been a key task of all levels of the Union. Through various forms of support, including livelihood models and loans, the Union has helped many women in difficult circumstances gradually increase their income and stabilize their lives.
