Global Finance magazine has just published a list of central bank governors who have achieved the highest ratings, including "A+", "A", or "A-", in its 2025 Central Bank Governor Ranking Report.
Among them, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong is one of three Governors rated A+, along with the Chairman of the US Federal Reserve (Fed), Jerome Hayden Powell, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Denmark, Christian Kettel Thomsen.
This is the second time Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong has been ranked A+, following her first achievement in 2023. She is recognized for her outstanding performance in controlling inflation, stabilizing exchange rates, managing interest rates, and supporting economic growth.
The Central Bank Governors Rankings report, published annually by Global Finance since 1994, "scores" the central bank governors of nearly 100 key countries, territories, and regions, as well as the European Union, the Central Bank of the Eastern Caribbean (ECCB), the Central Bank of the Central African States (BEAC), and the Central Bank of the West African States (BCEAO).
The scores are graded on a scale from "A+" to "F," based on success in areas such as inflation control, achieving economic growth targets, monetary stability, interest rate management, etc. ("A" represents excellence, decreasing to "F" - signifying complete failure).
Joseph Giarraputo, founder and editor-in-chief of Global Finance, said: "Our annual report aims to recognize leaders who not only achieve results but also demonstrate independence, discipline, and strategic vision in their management."
