Endrick quickly made a strong impression in Ligue 1. |
According to statistics from Opta , the young Brazilian forward has successfully completed 12 dribbles in Ligue 1 this season, surpassing Ousmane Dembele (PSG). The reigning Ballon d'Or winner only has 10 successful dribbles, despite playing since the beginning of the season.
Notably, Endrick has only played two matches in the French top league, but he has shown explosive form right from the start. In his Ligue 1 debut, a 2-1 win against Brest on January 19th, he completed 9 successful dribbles.
Nine successful dribbles was the highest number achieved by a player in a single Ligue 1 match that season up to that point, and also helped Endrick break the record for most dribbles in a debut match in the league.
The young star on Real Madrid's roster also created the most chances (5), won the most challenges (13) and was voted Man of the Match. In the 5-2 win against Metz on January 25th, he scored a hat-trick. After only 3 games wearing the Lyon shirt, Endrick made a strong impression with 5 goal contributions.
Compared to the legendary Neymar, when he first joined PSG, Neymar completed 32 successful dribbles in just his first 3 Ligue 1 matches (2017/18 season). Endrick's number, while not reaching that level, is still very impressive considering he played fewer matches and only joined Ligue 1 at the beginning of 2016.
