Authorities seized 7,500 packs of smuggled cigarettes.

At 2:30 AM on March 1st, a task force from the Anti-Drug and Crime Task Force under the Operations Department of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command, in coordination with the Ha Tien International Border Gate Border Guard Station, conducted a patrol and discovered and seized a large quantity of smuggled cigarettes.

The smuggled cigarettes were seized as evidence.

During a patrol, upon reaching the Rach Ket intersection, Group 12, Block 5, Dong Ho, Ha Tien Ward ( An Giang Province), the task force spotted a suspect operating a composite-hulled vehicle exhibiting suspicious behavior, so they signaled him to stop for inspection.

Taking advantage of the darkness and the treacherous river terrain, the suspect abandoned the evidence and vehicle and escaped. The seized items included 7,500 packs of cigarettes and a composite casing.

The task force proceeded to draw up a report documenting the incident and brought all the seized items to the Ha Tien International Border Gate Border Guard Station for investigation, verification, and handling in accordance with the law.
