Authorities seized over 1400 packs of smuggled cigarettes.

QNgTV - During a patrol and inspection of the area, officers of the Sa Ky Port Border Guard Station discovered a man in possession of 1,400 packs of foreign-branded cigarettes without invoices or supporting documents. The unit has seized the evidence and is conducting an investigation and verification process in accordance with the law.

According to initial information, at 2:30 PM on February 8th, the Sa Ky Port Border Guard Station, in coordination with the Tinh Khe Commune Police and Market Management Team No. 1 of Quang Ngai, patrolled a section of road in Tu Cung village, Tinh Khe commune (Quang Ngai province) and discovered Mr. LMH (33 years old, residing in Tu Cung village, Tinh Khe commune) carrying a cardboard box, preparing to transport it, exhibiting suspicious behavior.

Upon inspection, the carton contained 50 packs of JET brand cigarettes, but Mr. H was unable to produce any legal invoices or documents.

Working with the authorities, Mr. H confessed that he bought the goods in Da Nang , brought them back to his family to hide, and resell to customers for profit. Through persuasion and encouragement, Mr. H voluntarily surrendered an additional 1,150 packs of JET cigarettes and 200 packs of CAPRI cigarettes.

The Sa Ky Port Border Guard Station, in coordination with other functional forces, seized all the confiscated goods and recorded the incident for investigation and processing.
