Tran Van Tin - the "fire-bearer" of union movements in Phong Xuan

I have known Tin since the days when he worked in the local judicial sector about 5 years ago. At that time, Tin was praised by local people for being active, enthusiastic, and not afraid of difficult tasks. The event that I remember most about Tin until now is the landslide on Hill 178 in Phong Xuan Commune in the early morning of October 13, 2020. It was Tin who was the first person to stay up all night that night to bring local leaders to the scene to open a way to rescue 13 soldiers who died while participating in the rescue at Rao Trang Hydropower Plant.

For more than 3 years now, Tin has been transferred to be the Secretary of the Youth Union of Phong Xuan commune. According to Tin, the activities of the Youth Union, the Pioneers and the youth movement are a useful environment for each young union member to mature in thought, awareness and action. When assigned to be the "leader" of the Union, Tin always tries and makes efforts with the Executive Committee of the Commune Union to propose many activities suitable to the local reality, improving the quality of union activities at the grassroots level.

Many activities of Phong Xuan Commune Union have spread widely in the community and are trusted by the people and highly appreciated by the commune leaders. Notably, programs for the community, for the poor, blood donation, and the "Green Sunday" movement have all had great contributions from Mr. Tin. In recent years, Phong Xuan commune has implemented the new rural construction program with many unfavorable things. Tin has boldly advised and discussed with the commune leaders, finding solutions to overcome them, especially in the fields of environmental sanitation, expanding village roads, etc.

Implementing the plan of the Commune Youth Union, the Youth Union members of the villages were assigned to each family to propagate and call for joint support in cleaning the village roads, alleys, and gardens. Many concrete roads connecting villages and areas were facing difficulties in site clearance. Tin and the Youth Union members went to each house using good words and good intentions to persuade people to donate land and trees to open the roads. There were routes where there were difficulties in funding for buying cement, sand, and gravel. Mr. Tin developed a plan to call on organizations and philanthropists to support and join the people in contributing more working days to complete the project soon. It is worth mentioning that, with the responsibility of youth to the community, Mr. Tin and the Youth Union members in the commune actively participated in working days, participated in supervising and managing, collecting and spending on financial matters for each item, and the project was clear and transparent, so people trusted him. Currently, nearly 100% of the inter-village roads in Phong Xuan commune have been invested in upgrading and cleaning.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year and the 50th anniversary of Phong Dien town's liberation, Tin mobilized the Youth Union to launch an environmental sanitation campaign; offer incense and flowers at the martyrs' memorial house and historical sites in the area; and visit families of war invalids and martyrs. According to Tin, this is an annual activity of the commune's Youth Union to educate the younger generation to be grateful to those who have dedicated and sacrificed so that the country can be what it is today.

Currently, Mr. Tin is actively connecting with organizations to organize consulting, career guidance, job introduction, and encourage young people to learn a trade and work abroad. To encourage young people in the area to boldly start a business, Mr. Tin has set an example by participating in family economic activities. He borrowed from relatives to plant more than 2 hectares of economic forest and dig ponds to raise fish. The revenue from his economic model is not large, but it shows the dynamism of youth and pioneering in many fields...

According to Mr. Nguyen Ba Nam, Secretary of Phong Xuan Commune Party Committee, Mr. Tin's dynamism and enthusiasm have left many beautiful marks in the youth and association movements. Mr. Tin is a typical example for the people to trust, the commune to love and for the young generation in the locality to learn and follow.
