Accordingly, FPT and Truong Thinh Drone conducted test flights of a UAV for foliar fertilization of coffee plants in the Ang Cang Lake area (Manh Danh village). The UAV sprayed fertilizer on an area of approximately 1 hectare in just about 10 minutes with a stable flight path and the ability to accurately distribute fertilizer to the planted area, significantly reducing labor and minimizing wasted time in cultivation thanks to its flight control algorithms.
Compared to manual methods, spraying 1 hectare of crops in the plains takes 2 to 3 hours (instead of 8-10 minutes with a drone), and in hilly areas, it can take up to 3 days. In addition, the amount of water needed for manual spraying is 200 liters/ha, but with a drone it's only about 30-50 liters/ha. This is a clear advantage.
Mr. Vu Anh Tu, CEO of FPT UAV, FPT Group, stated that the Mekong Delta alone has approximately 10,000 agricultural drones, with strong operations in Dong Thap and An Giang provinces. In Dien Bien province, with its steep, hilly terrain, drone technology is even more significant as it helps people work faster, more accurately, and more efficiently, reducing manual labor and increasing productivity. In addition, UAVs can be used for transporting agricultural products, goods, medical equipment, patrolling and monitoring, or tourism… If effectively deployed, UAVs will create a complete ecosystem for the province, generating more jobs and stimulating economic and tourism development.
