According to Mundo Deportivo , Modric signed a one-year contract with the "Rossoneri," with a salary ranging from only 2.5 million to 3 million euros per year. This is significantly lower than the 10 million euros he earned in his final season at Real Madrid.
This shows that Modric's motivation to play is not just money, but also a desire to continue playing at a high level in preparation for the 2026 World Cup with the Croatian national team.
Modric left Real Madrid after more than a decade of success, where he won many prestigious titles. In the 2024/25 season, Modric played a total of 2,990 minutes, appearing in 35 La Liga matches and 14 Champions League matches, in addition to other competitions such as the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Super Cup.
Modric's last appearance for "Los Blancos" was in the 0-4 defeat against PSG in the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, closing an emotional chapter in his career.
Modric is expected to make his Milan debut in the coming days. He participated in pre-season training under coach Massimiliano Allegri, in preparation for the 2025/26 Serie A campaign.
Milan fans are excited about the prospect of Modric donning the red and black shirt. With his ability to control the game and his extensive experience, the Croatian international promises to bring quality to Milan's midfield.
