According to Mundo Deportivo , Modric signed a one-year contract with the "Rossoneri", with a salary ranging from only 2.5 million to 3 million euros per year. This is a much lower figure than the 10 million euros he earned in his last season at Real Madrid.
This shows that Modric's motivation to compete is not only money, but also the desire to continue playing football at a high level to prepare for the 2026 World Cup with the Croatian team.
Modric leaves Real Madrid after more than a decade of success, where he has won many prestigious titles. In the 2024/25 season, Modric played a total of 2,990 minutes, appearing in 35 La Liga matches and 14 Champions League matches, in addition to other tournaments such as the Copa del Rey and the European Super Cup.
The last time Modric played for "Los Blancos" was in a 0-4 defeat to PSG in the semi-finals of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, closing an emotional chapter in his career.
Modric is expected to make his Milan debut in the coming days. He has been taking part in pre-season training under coach Massimiliano Allegri, preparing for the 2025/26 Serie A campaign.
Milan fans are excited at the prospect of Modric wearing the red and black shirt. With his ability to control the game and his vast experience, the Croatian promises to bring quality to Milan's midfield.
