Attending the meeting were: Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh ; Deputy Prime Ministers Tran Hong Ha, Bui Thanh Son, Ho Duc Phoc, and Mai Van Chinh - Head of the Steering Committee for the Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day; Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung - Head of the Organizing Committee for the Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day, along with other Ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies; and leaders of central committees, ministries, and agencies.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting of the Government Standing Committee with ministries, departments, and central agencies on the preparation for organizing the Exhibition of Socio -Economic Achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day.
To date, the Government has established a Steering Committee and issued a comprehensive plan for activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day, which includes the task of organizing an exhibition of socio-economic achievements; established an Organizing Committee; and issued a plan for organizing the exhibition. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism – the Standing Agency of the Steering Committee – has met with 63 provinces and centrally-administered cities to agree on the method of implementing the exhibition with central ministries and agencies.
Scheduled to take place from August 28th to September 5th, 2025 at the National Exhibition Center, Co Loa, Dong Anh, Hanoi, the exhibition will showcase and introduce the socio-economic achievements of the country over the past 80 years of construction, protection, and development. It will also include supporting activities such as: trade fairs, food stalls, tourism and handicraft booths; art programs; bilateral meetings, conferences, and seminars…
Currently, relevant ministries, departments, agencies, and units are developing plans and arranging exhibition spaces; service spaces to serve the public visiting the Exhibition and enjoying entertainment and experiences; ensuring security, order, and food safety; and developing scenarios for cultural and artistic activities, exchanges, fairs, and culinary events.
After leaders of ministries and sectors gave their opinions and concluded the conference, the Prime Minister stated that the Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day is a large-scale activity with rich content; it is a major, difficult, unprecedented undertaking with a short preparation time and high requirements… All ministries, sectors, and localities must participate with the highest spirit and responsibility to ensure that the Exhibition is organized in a comprehensive, holistic, objective, honest, feasible, and effective manner.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that the exhibition should depict the process of defending and building the country over the past 80 years.
Regarding objectives, the Prime Minister stated that the exhibition should portray the process of national defense and development over the past 80 years; evoke pride in the glorious historical traditions, create motivation and inspire the nation to prepare for a new era of strong, prosperous, civilized, and thriving development; ensure that the people truly enjoy the fruits and pride, while also showcasing the country's 80-year achievements to the international community. The Prime Minister noted that the target audience includes both adults and young people.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need to mobilize the combined strength of the entire nation, its people, and businesses to organize the exhibition; to combine the display and exhibition of the country's and nation's achievements with other cultural, artistic, and entertainment activities; to integrate tradition and modernity, national cultural identity and the technological achievements of humanity, ensuring scientific rigor; to maximize the use of documents, materials, artifacts, and individuals; and to maximize the self-reliance, self-improvement, initiative, and creativity of all relevant stakeholders.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assigned Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh to continue directly supervising, with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the Standing Agency of the Steering Committee, to prepare and organize the Exhibition with "clear responsibilities, clear tasks, clear timelines, clear results, clear authority, and clear accountability"; and to have special, unique, and exceptional mechanisms to ensure that the preparation and organization of the Exhibition require high determination, great effort, decisive action, "turning nothing into something, turning difficulties into ease, turning the impossible into possible," ensuring that the requirements and objectives are met.
