In Cam Thuy commune, Thanh Hoa Power Company, in coordination with the Provincial Police, local authorities, and Cam Thuy Secondary School, organized a propaganda program on the theme "Electrical Safety - Protecting Yourself and the Community," attracting a large number of officials, teachers, and students.
Nguyen Van Duc, Principal of Cam Thuy Secondary School, shared: “ Educating students on safe and economical electricity use is one of the key contents in the school's life skills training program. Through awareness campaigns, we not only help students improve their awareness and skills in preventing accidents but also hope that each student will become a 'little advocate' spreading this message to the community.”
Along with the task of ensuring electricity supply, Thanh Hoa Power Company always considers the efficient and economical use of energy and the development of renewable energy as an inevitable trend to contribute to ensuring national energy security and achieving sustainable development goals. Immediately after the Government issued Directive No. 10/CT-TTg on strengthening the implementation of electricity saving and developing rooftop solar power towards self-production and self-consumption, the company proactively developed an implementation plan, intensified propaganda and guidance for customers on using electricity efficiently and economically, and supported people and businesses in accessing policies for the development of rooftop solar power.
In addition to proactively working with all major electricity consumers in the province to disseminate information, encourage, and coordinate the implementation of solutions for efficient and economical electricity use, and promoting the development of self-sufficient rooftop solar power in accordance with actual conditions and current regulations, the company also acts as a consultant, guide, and support unit for customers in accessing policies, connecting, and operating rooftop solar power systems safely and efficiently.
To date, Thanh Hoa Power Company has completed the installation of 22 out of 22 rooftop solar power systems at its headquarters and affiliated power plants, with a total capacity of 615 kWp. As of April 30, 2026, the company is managing 605 rooftop solar power customers with a total capacity of 66,561.34 kWp. In April 2026 alone, the amount of rooftop solar power fed into the grid reached approximately 4.4 million kWh, with a pre-tax payment of over 9.3 billion VND. Cumulatively, by the end of April 2026, the amount of electricity fed into the grid reached 13.8 million kWh, with a total pre-tax payment of over 29.2 billion VND.
Regarding the development of self-produced, self-consumed rooftop solar power under Decree 58/2025/ND-CP, the entire company has developed 284 customers with a total capacity of 9,430 MW, achieving 107.6% of the assigned plan in terms of the number of customers.
In the coming period, the company will focus on investing in modernizing the power grid towards synchronization, intelligence, and sustainability; improving the reliability of electricity supply; promoting digital transformation, applying science and technology, and developing a smart grid. At the same time, it is committed to working alongside people and businesses in using electricity efficiently and effectively, and developing rooftop solar power in accordance with regulations, contributing to the green growth and sustainable development goals of Thanh Hoa province.
In line with the policy of promoting the use of clean, environmentally friendly fuels, Thanh Hoa Petroleum and Gas Company Limited has officially launched the sale of E10 bioethanol fuel at all 61 of its affiliated gas stations. Introducing E10 bioethanol fuel not only contributes to diversifying fuel sources but also gradually helps the market and consumers become familiar with this new fuel, moving towards the trend of using clean energy, reducing emissions, and protecting the environment. It also marks an important step in the development of bioethanol fuel in the locality.
Faced with challenges to energy security, fluctuations in the global energy market, and the urgent need to improve the energy efficiency of the economy, while promoting the transition to electric transportation to contribute to national energy security and achieve sustainable development goals, the Department of Industry and Trade advised and reported to the Provincial People's Committee for approval of the electricity supply plan in case of power shortages in the province in 2026 in Decision No. 420/QD-UBND. This serves as the basis for managing and ensuring electricity supply to meet the needs of the people when complex situations occur leading to power shortages. In addition, the department advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue Official Letter No. 6593/UBND-CNXDKH requesting relevant units to implement solutions to enhance electricity saving, manage electricity demand, and develop rooftop solar power in Thanh Hoa province.
In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade also advises the Provincial People's Committee on implementing solutions and tasks to achieve the goals of saving at least 3% of the total electricity consumption in the province by 2026; saving at least 10% of electricity consumption during peak hot months; and ensuring that approximately 10% of agencies, offices, and households in the province install and use rooftop solar power for self-production and self-consumption annually, or that the total annual development capacity reaches 20% of the rooftop solar power installation capacity allocated in the adjusted Power Plan VIII to 2030 of the province.
