Implementing Resolution 57: Digital technology accelerates, 5G coverage is rapid.

The implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation continues to yield many positive results. Digital technology businesses are experiencing strong growth, and digital infrastructure – especially 5G networks – is expanding rapidly, making a significant contribution to promoting socio-economic development.

On November 15th, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Government Steering Committee on Science , Technology Development, Innovation, Digital Transformation and Project 06, chaired the 5th meeting of the Steering Committee. At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan reported on the results of the tasks implemented in the past period.

According to the report, as of November 13th, ministries, sectors, and localities had completed 370 out of 944 tasks in the Government 's Action Program, achieving a 67% on-time completion rate. Specifically, since the 4th meeting of the Steering Committee, agencies have been assigned 125 new tasks and have completed 81 of them. Many ministries and sectors have achieved completion rates exceeding 70%.

In the digital technology sector, there are over 78,500 active businesses nationwide. Revenue in October 2025 reached over 505 trillion VND, an increase of more than 52% compared to the same period last year; cumulative revenue for the first 10 months reached approximately 4,255 trillion VND. Export turnover of hardware and electronics for the first 10 months reached 146.3 billion USD.

Digital infrastructure continues to grow rapidly. Vietnam's mobile and fixed internet speeds are among the world's leading. By October 2025, the country will have over 16,700 5G base stations, covering nearly 40% of the population; it is expected that by the end of 2025, coverage will reach approximately 90% of the population.

These results show that Resolution 57-NQ/TW is being implemented decisively, creating an important foundation for the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
