The Kim Thanh and Kim Phat I gold shops in the Go Vap market area are always bustling with dozens of customers. Most people come to these two shops to buy gold rings weighing 3 phân, 5 phân, and 1 chỉ. Others buy gold jewelry, bracelets, and necklaces. Each gold item costs between 2 and 10 million VND.

Meanwhile, at gold shops in Tan Dinh Market (District 1), Cau Market (District 12), etc., customers are mainly inquiring about products related to the Year of the Snake (Year of the Ất Tỵ). Accordingly, the most notable gold items are 1-tael gold bars and 1-tael gold coins engraved with snake images, and gold snake figurines ranging from 1 to 3 taels.

The selling price of these products is calculated based on the price of gold rings, plus a crafting cost ranging from approximately 150,000 VND to several million VND per product.

Although there was a large influx of customers, Ms. Han Thi Binh, owner of Kim Phat I gold shop, said that purchasing power was only 30% compared to last year.

"Perhaps due to low incomes and excessively high gold prices, people only buy items worth between 5 and 10 million VND, which aligns with businesses' plans to avoid producing and trading high-value gold products," Ms. Binh said.
